To start with the conclusion, I had surgery because I wanted to improve the slight bulbous-nose look I had when seen from the front, but far from improving it, the shape itself has become a round, blunt nasal tip that is even rounder than my natural nose, so I’m considering early removal.. I’m writing a long post because I’m curious about other people’s opinions Because of this nose, I learned about this community for the first time, and I scraped together all the money I had and didn’t have to get it done, so the stress is really no joke. Of course I’m taking swelling into account, but I don’t think it will change much even after one month or six months..
First, on 1/13, I had a closed rhinoplasty at a place called ㅇㅈㅋ. I was definitely planning to do it closed, and I wasn’t hugely dissatisfied with my previous nose either, but I wanted to improve how it spread when I smiled, the low glabella/nasal bridge, and the slightly bulbous nose. I was debating between ㄴㅈㅂ and ㅇㅈㅋ, but I chose ㅇㅈㅋ because they said the nasal bridge could be done too, and all the reviews were good. That was definitely part of why I did it.
Exactly what surgery I had: It was done closed, and I had nasal tip cartilage suturing + diced ear cartilage mixed with an autologous blood agent placed in the nasal bridge and nasal tip (surgery time about 1 hour).
What I wanted after rhinoplasty: First of all, rather than my side profile, I wanted the bulbous-nose look from the front to improve. I wanted the nasal tip to become a bit slimmer. Looking at reviews, people became slimmer if anything, and there weren’t cases where they looked even more bulbous than before, you know? But I just became a swollen-looking nose person (I don’t think this is a shape that swelling alone can fully fix. I can see the swelling going down day by day, of course, but the shape of this nasal tip itself feels worse than the shape of my natural nose?)
Current condition after rhinoplasty: Some sensation has come back, I can yawn fine, and aside from picking my nose or touching it a lot, I’m okay. As you can see in the photos, one side of my nose is extremely bulging, whether the tissue inside is unusually swollen or what (I’m seriously going crazy). I think the front view is even more of a mess. The nasal tip area still feels firm. And originally I was the type to get acne on my nose easily, but even so, it feels like I’ve been getting especially a lot lately, and the area around my eyes and nose has been itchy. I don’t know why.
What I’m at least satisfied with after surgery: Before surgery, my glabella area almost looked sunken, so I can say I’m at least satisfied that that part was filled, and with the side profile But I wanted improvement in the front-view impression, and side-profile improvement wasn’t the main focus, so I’m stressed. What’s the point if the side of my nose looks pretty? When you talk to someone, you look at their face from the front, right? Even before, with my natural nose, I’d heard several times that it was a nose that didn’t really need surgery, so I think I regret it even more.
What I hope for after removal: I want removal done closed. First, if I do remove it, I hope to do early removal before it adheres more. I don’t particularly want to remove the ear cartilage placed in the glabella area, and I want to remove all the ear cartilage from the middle of the nasal bridge through the nasal tip. If I remove it, will my nasal tip at least go back to something like my natural nose shape? Anyone who has done this, please leave comments😢
This got too long as I wrote it, and I’ll carefully think about it while getting consultations for nose removal going forward, and I’ll also look into in detail what nose implant/cartilage removal even involves, but in my current nose situation, if you can think of any disadvantages or advantages if I remove it like that in the way I want, please leave just one comment. If you have any clinics you recommend, please recommend them too...😢🙏 (It would be nice if they provide CT consultations and are very meticulous and good at removal.)
