Day 2 after full-incision surgery

I had surgery on the 24th. Full incision + ptosis correction + fat removal, etc.. I had local anesthesia along with sedation. Because there was a lot to do, the surgery took a long time. 3 hours. I went to the hospital around 11 a.m., had the line marked again (I had a lot of requests, and my right eye was slightly angular, so I also had a consultation about the eye shape), and lay down on the operating table around 12. After getting the anesthetic injection and hearing “Go to sleep,” I got sleepy. They had the radio on in the operating room, and when I slightly woke up to the sound of Jung Sun-hee’s program, which I usually listen to often, it was already around 1 p.m. At that point, they must have already opened my right eye and were cauterizing things like fat or blood vessels. There was the smell of burning flesh, and the doctor was busily moving their hands. I had woken up, but I stayed still for a while because I thought I might interfere with the surgery. They worked on the right eye a bit, moved to the left eye, then came back to the right.. At first, they didn’t use scissors, and even when cutting sutures, they burned them with an electrocautery device.. Since I couldn’t hear scissor sounds, I felt a bit more at ease. Then after about 20 minutes, I could feel the surgical area more, and it seemed like the anesthesia was gradually wearing off starting from the right side. I moved my hand and pretended I had woken up, and from then on, because they were doing ptosis correction, they kept asking me to open and close my eyes a lot. When I said it felt like sensation was gradually coming back, they said they would do local anesthesia once and injected lidocaine anesthetic around both upper eyelids. Since I was still under the main anesthesia, it didn’t hurt that much. Then they did various things, and only after 2 p.m. did the doctor say, “I’ll close now.” I thought, ‘Then what have they been doing until now.. This is taking so long..’ The surgery was really long, but time went by fairly quickly. After 2 hours, they were stitching the sutures, and it was really like they stitched one side, had me open and close my eyes a bit, stitched the other side, then again had me open and close them.. I think they stitched almost 20-30 stitches on each eye. In the middle, the anesthesia seemed to be wearing off again from the outer corner of the right eye (this is the side where I had ptosis correction), so I said it stung a bit when the needle went in. They told me not to endure the pain and to tell them when it hurt, and then they gave me another lidocaine injection just in that area. They said if I don’t say anything when it hurts and tense up when the needle goes in, there will be more bleeding, more bruising, and more swelling. Anyway, after getting one more anesthetic injection, it got better, and after both sides were stitched well, it was almost 3 p.m. In the middle, I also got some swelling-reduction injection called Hiyel or something so my eyes wouldn’t swell. Of course, into the upper eyelids. I was still anesthetized then too, so it didn’t hurt much. Rather, because the surgery was long, my back and legs hurt, and especially because I had been lying flat for a long time, the back of my head felt extremely pressed and painful. That whole day was awful because I had to take the bus around, felt carsick, had a headache, and felt nauseated. I had eaten something simple before surgery, but during surgery I got so hungry. My stomach growled several times.. It was embarrassing. I went home and ate something again, but it didn’t sit well, so I ended up throwing it all up.. Anyway, they put gauze on the surgical area and stuck on a lot of flesh-colored paper tape. Then I lay down in the recovery room for a while and did ice packs. After about 20 minutes, the doctor talked a bit about swelling and gave me some brief instructions. I had originally planned to go shopping, but because of the gauze I really couldn’t see well in front of me, my eyesight was already poor and I could see even less, and I wasn’t feeling well, so I just went home. I was so tired that I didn’t even want to do cold compresses, and I knew the line would become prettier if I opened my eyes wide, but opening them wide made my head hurt more and made me nauseated, so I roughly put the compress pad the hospital gave me over my eyes and slept half-sitting on the sofa. In my case, the swelling was worse in the right eye where I had ptosis correction, and since the eyelashes on both sides were lifted and my eyes had become so much bigger, it was extremely uncomfortable. They said even if I fully closed my eyes to sleep, neither eye would close, so they told me to apply Terramycin antibiotic ointment to my eyes before sleeping. When I fell asleep briefly from fatigue without applying it, my eyes became completely dry and gritty. Since then, I make sure to apply it before sleeping. The next day, I didn’t swell as much as I expected. In the morning, I went to the hospital for disinfection, told them yesterday had been hard, and talked a bit more with the doctor. Then the doctor said I should get another swelling-reduction injection, so without anesthesia, they injected that Hiyel-something into both upper eyelids several times, and I really thought I was going to die. I had never felt pain like that in my life. I screamed and caused a scene.. People outside were murmuring, asking what was going on, and the person who came with me was startled and ran over.. Anyway, after getting all the injections, I calmed down. Of course, it was embarrassing. Tomorrow, among the sutures, they’re going to remove the one stitch on each side that was placed to support the line near the nose, and the day after that or the following day they said they’ll remove all the sutures. I’m going to the hospital tomorrow too, but I really don’t want to get the swelling-reduction injection. Right now, because my eyes have become so large, I have severe dry eyes, so I live pouring artificial tears into my eyes. Even with glasses, I can’t see well in front of me.. The swelling is okay in the evening and bad in the morning.. People say surgery doesn’t hurt at all, but maybe because I had a lot done and it took a long time, it keeps hurting a little. It seems worse because the sutures are pulling.. Anyway, I hope it turns out well, but I’m very worried. Looking at my current state.. I really want to go back to how I looked before. But I’ll become prettier, right?
