For my nose, my primary surgery was open, and for the second surgery, they removed only the silicone and autologous costal cartilage and left the septal cartilage in place. Now I’m also thinking about removing what’s left, so I’m waiting to reach 6 months. I have a wide, bulbous nose with no nasal bridge, and after two open surgeries, my columella has become shorter and looks retracted. If I remove the septal cartilage, could it be done with a closed approach? I’m worried that if I do open surgery one more time, the columella will keep getting shorter or become depressed, and I’m scared I’ll get an upturned nose. But now I don’t want to keep worrying about my nose anymore...
