At other clinics, I was often recommended to do lateral canthoplasty together with lower canthoplasty. They said that doing only the lateral canthoplasty would not be effective, that I needed to do the lower canthoplasty as well, and when I said I was worried because canthoplasty procedures are known to have many side effects and often reattach, making the effect minimal, they said they operate with reattachment in mind and initially open it excessively. I had an important schedule coming up, so opening it excessively felt burdensome, and because I wanted to return to normal quickly, I kept going for consultations and even wondered whether I should just not have the surgery. But the director here said confidently that they could simply perform the surgery so it would not reattach in the first place. When I heard about the surgical method, all the other clinics were the same. Only here, they said it was their own proprietary surgical method. However, one downside was that other clinics used things like dissolvable sutures, so I did not have to come in for stitch removal. They also said they used sutures that were not very visible, so it would not be that bothersome in daily life, but here, I absolutely had to come in to have the stitches removed. After the surgery, I had severe conjunctival edema, so I was very worried, and whenever I contacted them because I was concerned, there was no special measure or separate treatment other than needing to allow enough recovery time, but they responded appropriately. At first, I felt like the sutures were forcibly pulling, so it was uncomfortable, but now I do not feel anything at all. Now I have recovered well, and no one can tell I had surgery. I think lateral canthoplasty is not something that easily looks very obvious, but I am living satisfied with the small difference that only I notice.
