Are there still clinics these days that secretly use mesh?

There are. That happened to me. They just use it without bothering to tell you. Even after using it, they don’t say anything. You either find it in the surgical record or the itemized cost receipt, or you find out later when a problem occurs and you have removal surgery. But you can’t really confront them. That consent form the consultant roughly explains always includes wording like, “During surgery, other materials may be inserted at the doctor’s discretion.”

I heard there have been cases where they used materials they didn’t mention, though not mesh. I think you really need to look into the clinic carefully before deciding

For people who work in hospitals, conscience is really important (how would you know whether the materials used on me, the operating room environment, surgical materials, and so on were uncontaminated? It comes down to that healthcare worker’s conscience). I think the problem is that you can’t measure that conscience, and it doesn’t show on the outside
