11-month review after surgery for contracted/upturned nose

I had surgery for a contracted nose at the end of November 2024, so it has been almost a year now. Because my condition was not good, it was not easy to find a doctor who said they could do it. As I went around looking for a doctor, I ended up having consultations at a total of 28 clinics over one year. I searched everywhere I could reach, including communities and apps, and met practically every doctor in Seoul known for working on noses, but in the end, there were only four doctors in total who said they could do it. It took a long time from starting consultations to finding a clinic, so there were times when I felt exhausted. But when clinics that were said to be very famous evaluated, criticized, and belittled my nose, there were many times I felt hurt and angry. There were even times when I got so upset that I left in the middle of the consultation without even receiving the manager’s price information (this was also a very famous doctor). I was paying my own money for the consultation too, so if they couldn’t do it, they could just say they couldn’t. But when they blamed me, saying things like this nose was so low it was practically like having no nose, I honestly felt humiliated on a human level. I ended up having surgery at a clinic with many reviews saying their results are dramatic. At first, because of the talk about dramatic results, I was a little scared and felt burdened about having a contracted nose treated dramatically, so I kept putting it off and only went there near the very end of my consultations. I was worried because it was different from the look I was aiming for, but after the consultation, I liked that the doctor seemed confident with contracted noses/upturned noses. More than anything, rather than insisting only on the doctor’s own design, I could see that they were trying to make the shape I wanted, so I chose them, and it turned out the way I wanted. It went well without being excessive, and now that it has been about a year, I am satisfied. Since revision surgery for a contracted nose can develop side effects again at any time, I am living carefully, even being cautious about what I eat. It took a lot of time and money, but I am satisfied because I was able to return safely to a normal appearance. I used to come here constantly because of my concerns about a contracted nose and received a lot of help, so I am leaving a post too. If anyone is struggling with the same concern, please stay strong. Even if everyone says they cannot do it, there will definitely be at least one doctor in Seoul who understands your nose, so please do not give up.
