My mom’s eyelids seemed to have started drooping a lot recently, so while we were looking into a brow lift and upper eyelid surgery, we went around for consultations at a few places and she had surgery at Yonsei Eyes in the Apgujeong area! We went in not knowing whether she should get a brow lift or upper eyelid surgery, but the director said upper eyelid surgery seemed more suitable, so she got upper eyelid surgery. What my mom really kept debating was whether or not to actually have surgery because she was worried it would look obvious afterward... She was worried because she said she didn’t like that artificial-looking feeling, but it turned out more natural than expected, so we’re really satisfied,, I went with her both for the consultation and on the surgery day, and honestly, on the day of surgery, I was even more nervous..... thinking what if something goes wrong... When she came out after surgery, her eyes were more swollen than I expected, so I was a bit worried, and maybe because they could see I was shocked, a staff member? nurse? comforted me for a moment while my mom was recovering They said in the early stage it can swell a lot depending on the person’s constitution and that after a few days the major swelling would go down, so not to worry, and if there was any problem to contact the hospital right away, so I felt a bit relieved... Thankfully, the major swelling went down faster than expected, and now it seems like there’s only a little mild swelling? left. The bruising has almost completely faded too!! Anyway, the surgery looks like it went so well, and every time I see my mom’s face, her impression looks so much brighter,, I feel so proud I should’ve had her do it sooner.. Everyone, if your parents are concerned about drooping eyes, try looking into upper eyelid surgeryㅏ It’s kind of like double eyelid surgery for older adults? but with a slightly more specialized feel, I guess..!
