Review 3 months after double-jaw surgery + chin advancement (two-step osteotomy) at Yang Yun-dol Hospital It has already been 3 months since I had surgery at Yang Yun-dol Hospital. Looking back on the time that has passed while writing this review, I feel a lot of renewed emotions. Changes before and after surgery •Before surgery: It was so hard for me to stand in front of people that I almost developed social avoidance, and every time someone mentioned my chin, I felt intimidated. Even in front of the opposite sex, it was difficult to even have a conversation, and approaching someone or starting a conversation felt impossible. •After surgery: These worries have almost disappeared. When group photos are uploaded, I zoom in on my face and think, “I came out well,” and if I like it, I even save the original photo. Now I can approach people first, start conversations, make eye contact, and talk naturally. I have also gained the confidence that “I don’t fall behind in terms of looks.” Changes in daily life •Even the discomfort I had when eating just a month ago has disappeared. When eating noodles, I used to feel like they were getting caught in my throat, but now that feeling is completely gone, and the awkward sensation when brushing behind my upper teeth has almost fully recovered as well. •People around me often tell me, “Your face keeps looking better and better” and “It looks natural,” and I can really feel that a lot of the swelling has gone down. Things I’m not fully satisfied with The double chin I had even before surgery still remains. It may be due to skin elasticity or fat rather than the jaw structure, or it may be due to swelling. I am currently managing it while dieting, and if necessary, I plan to consider procedures such as liposuction or lifting later on. Final thoughts I do wish I had done it a little earlier, but I think it is truly fortunate that I had the surgery even now. I am very satisfied because I was able to move past my old complex and regain my confidence.
