Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

1-Month Review Before and After Two-Jaw Surgery, Thanks to Director Shin Hee-jin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial…

Since I was young, because of my protruding lower jaw, I looked okay from the front, but from the side, I felt like people were only looking at my chin, so it bothered me a lot. I was always covering my chin with my hand. Through orthodontic treatment, my jaw moved inward and I gained confidence in my appearance, but as time passed, my jaw grew again and I ended up hiding it like before. In the end, I decided to have two-jaw surgery, and after looking into several hospitals, I chose Director Shin Hee-jin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. I trusted them because they perform only one surgery a day and disclose CCTV footage, and other patients’ surgical results matched my own beauty standards the best. On the first day after surgery, my mouth and nose were very swollen, so even breathing was hard and my mind felt foggy. The swelling extended to my throat, so at night it was hard to breathe through my mouth and there was pain too, but thanks to Director Shin Hee-jin and the kind hospital staff, I felt at ease. On days 2-3, the swelling in my face and neck was severe, but my nose gradually opened up and the swelling inside my mouth decreased, making breathing much easier. The wafer rubbed against my tongue, but after the urinary catheter was removed, I felt good because I could walk around freely. On days 4-7, bruising on my neck and swelling in my face continued, but I was gradually able to sleep more comfortably and could take light walks. As the swelling slowly went down and the pain decreased, seeing how my chin had moved inward from the surgery made me think I had made the right decision. In week 2, I could breathe comfortably without nasal congestion, nosebleeds, or a runny nose, and the swelling inside my mouth and throat had almost gone down, so my voice became natural too. The inside of my mouth pressed by the wafer was slightly uncomfortable, but facial swelling only remained a little in the morning and was almost gone at night, so the pain decreased greatly. After the elastics were removed, my pronunciation leaked slightly, but with practice it became natural, and my stamina recovered a lot, so long walks and daily life were not a problem. In week 3, after the stitches were removed, the swelling clearly decreased and the discomfort inside my mouth almost disappeared. I only removed the wafer when eating, so meals became more comfortable, and as I started jaw exercises and saw my mouth opening better and better, I felt proud. People around me said my face had gotten smaller, and I also heard compliments that my side profile was pretty, and the tingling I used to feel when turning my head disappeared, so I felt relieved. By 1 month, the pain had completely disappeared, and although a little swelling remained, there was only morning discomfort and no major problem. I got used to the wafer too, so it didn’t interfere with daily life, and people around me could barely notice the swelling. I can go out without a mask, eat soft foods like before surgery, and my stamina has fully recovered. More than anything, seeing that my side profile has become much prettier than my front view makes me look in the mirror often. I’m looking forward to the day when the swelling goes down completely, and I’ve come to enjoy seeing my face change every day after surgery. To sum up, if you are looking for a place that is good at two-jaw surgery, I strongly recommend Director Shin Hee-jin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. I’m satisfied with the changes before and after surgery, and thanks to the attentive care and kindness, I was able to feel reassured throughout recovery.
