I didn’t know much and just followed a friend to get surgery: partial incision, epicanthoplasty, lateral canthoplasty, and buried suture double eyelids at the outer part. It’s been 15 years now. At the time, after the surgery started, they said I had more fat than expected and even removed fat, so the swelling really lasted a long time. About a year and a half..? Back then, I didn’t know anything about swelling management either. So I wondered if my surgery had failed, but starting from the second year the swelling went down a lot. From then on, my eyes gradually started to feel like my own, and from the fifth year onward they became so natural that you couldn’t really tell unless you looked very closely. My eye asymmetry was really severe, so I still have some asymmetry now, but they corrected it a lot, and they also explained everything in detail before the surgery, so I’ve just been living with it. Maybe I was lucky with the lateral canthoplasty, but it barely reattached, and there’s just a tiny scar that only I know about. Since the outer part was done with buried sutures, I thought it might come undone, but even after 15 years there isn’t the slightest sign of it loosening. I thought it was interesting that the same doctor is still practicing in the same place under the same business name, so I’m leaving a review. It’s a shame I don’t have pre-surgery photos because it was so long ago. My eyes were small, very asymmetrical, had Mongolian folds, and looked stuffy.
