<Pre-op><Pre-op><Pre-op><6 months post-op><6 months post-op><6 months post-op> It’s already reached 6 months after surgery~! Earlier this year, because I was worried about malocclusion and facial asymmetry, I had bimaxillary orthognathic surgery at a clinic! Before surgery, the lower face felt asymmetric and kind of bulky, but after the double-jaw/upper-and-lower-jaw correction for a square-jaw profile, my lower face feels more balanced and it’s so good Even sensations that I barely felt until last month are slowly returning, and the areas that felt awkward are clearly becoming more familiar; as the uncomfortable spots improve one by one each month, time feels like it’s passing faster and faster~! I don’t feel facial pain anymore, and swelling has reduced a lot. Except for a little swelling in the morning, it doesn’t swell anymore!
The concern after surgery about a small dent that had appeared in my jaw—one time I forgot it and later checked, and to my surprise, it had disappeared. The double chin issue also seems to be improving little by little! Before, I felt awkward and uncomfortable showing my face, but now it’s no longer awkward, and I can move around comfortably even without a mask! Most importantly, this is a big part of being able to love myself more, and I am very satisfied~ It was a risky and burdensome surgery, but I feel it was a truly worthwhile process, worth enduring the time and pain again if needed. It was really a satisfying surgery! And because every time I come for follow-up, all the staff are kind, I can go with even more gratitude. I’ll keep recording how I change over the next 6 months too~ I hope everyone who is having surgery has a safe procedure and can release their worries and concerns.
