First of all, I originally did have inner double eyelids, but they were so thin that my eyes looked like monolids. But my eyes are fairly long horizontally, so ever since I was young, people around me often asked if I wasn't going to get double eyelid surgery... Then I had some free time, so I ended up getting the surgery done very quickly lol I had consultations at 2 clinics. One was a clinic I personally found through a community, and the other was a one-doctor private clinic specializing in eyes where an acquaintance had surgery. When I consulted with the consultants and directors at the 2 places, I felt the former was better in terms of kindness and thoroughness. I went in knowing somewhat little about double eyelid surgery, but the consultation manager kindly explained the various surgical methods and types, and based on her experience, recommended a combination that seemed suitable for me! Of course, the director also tried making various lines and, based on the line I wanted, recommended a line that could actually be operated on and still produce a good result. That clinic was a really large plastic surgery clinic, and maybe because the people there had that much experience, I actually liked that they could look at my eyes and immediately create a line that would suit me! Anyway, that's how I scheduled surgery at this clinic for non-incisional double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty. And on the day of surgery, I reviewed the line again with the director, had the surgery, and came out... but it didn't hurt at all..? During the surgery, when they woke me up midway and asked me to open my eyes, and afterward when they tied the suture knots? Other than some discomfort from a slight feeling of tension, there was nothing I would call pain. It might just be my personal constitution, but I didn't feel dizzy from the sedation anesthesia either, and I could basically go right back to daily life? And even when the local anesthesia was wearing off, aside from discomfort due to swelling, there was no pain at all. In my case, I had more bruising than swelling after surgery, but maybe time really is the medicine, because after about a week it was almost gone~ As for the epicanthoplasty, after getting the stitches removed a week after surgery, aside from a little redness, it didn't seem noticeable at all. What I feel at this point is that as the double eyelid line definitely became thicker, my eyes also look much bigger vertically.. And I didn't have ptosis, but my eyelids were on the droopy side, so after double eyelid surgery it feels like my eyes opened up? lol Double eyelid surgery is still surgery after all, so it is true that you need to think carefully and consider many things, but personally, what I felt is that there wasn't much pain and it wasn't too burdensome time-wise, so if you're going to do it, it seems better to do it even one day younger (since recovery is better haha
