I had surgery in March. My nose had a low bridge and, depending on the angle, looked a bit like an upturned nose. At the time, I didn’t know much about noses, so I just went with the most standard option: 4 mm silicone and ear cartilage for the nasal tip. But during surgery, they said 4 mm was too high compared with my forehead, so they changed it to 3 mm lol (they also said I should definitely do my forehead later..) But only right after surgery did I start looking into various things about plastic surgery. That’s when I learned about septal cartilage.. Apparently you can place a support strut to make the nasal tip more defined? Though there are also many opinions saying it’s not good.. So when I visited the clinic, I asked the doctor. They said it is technically possible to use septal cartilage as a support strut and also use ear cartilage for the nasal tip, but it can make the philtrum look more pronounced, feels very hard, and personally they do not recommend that material.. They said my upturned nose wasn’t severe, so ear cartilage would be enough.. But every time I look in the mirror, I also think I want to lengthen my short nose just a tiny bit... I’d like to hear opinions from people who have had septal extension surgery~~
