Review of Consultations for My First Double Eyelid Surgery

1. ㄷㅂ It ended extremely quickly. Including the waiting time, it was over in 7 minutes, so I felt they lacked sincerity. The explanation was also on the shorter side… Since it was my first surgery and this was my first consultation, I didn’t know much and wanted to hear a detailed explanation, but it felt like they only gave somewhat formal information. When I said I wanted lateral canthoplasty, they recommended lateral and lower canthoplasty. Even with the student exam-taker discount + the condition of writing a partially public review, it was on the expensive side. 2. ㄴㄴ Plastic Surgery ㅇㅇㅈ Because it was a large clinic, the wait time was really long. I went at 11, and by the time the consultation ended it was 2. The consultant talked a lot and seemed detailed. When I asked the consultant to recommend a doctor, she recommended Dr. ㅇㅇㅈ. He seemed meticulous, and when I said I wanted canthoplasty, he didn’t recommend it. But he said I should do upper epicanthoplasty. He said that when doing double eyelid surgery, I need upper epicanthoplasty so the line near the inner corner of my eye looks less blocked. But there was pressure to pay a deposit. 3. ㅇㅅㅇ There was no waiting time. I arrived almost an hour later than my appointment time, but went straight into the consultation. It was more thorough than ㄷㅂ and less thorough than ㄴㄴ. Here they did not recommend canthoplasty. They said if I don’t want a sad-looking expression, it’s right not to do it, and if I really want lateral and lower canthoplasty, I should do it after double eyelid surgery. I mentioned that I had heard about upper epicanthoplasty at ㄴㄴ, and here they said, “That’s something we do as part of double eyelid surgery~” So I only got a quote for incisional double eyelid surgery. It was cheap. I think it came out cheaper because I’m an exam-taking student. The director had a very straightforward, refreshing personality. 4. ㅇㅇㅍ I heard it was opened by a doctor who is good at canthoplasty, so I went. They said the director was in charge of eye surgery for VIP foreign clients at ㄷㅇㅇ? The consultant also said she had worked with him at ㄷㅇㅇ before coming here. He looked at each line meticulously and found a line that suited me well. He seemed honest. I said, “I think raising it a bit more to a semi-out line might be okay?” and he went, “Oh? Really...? I don’t think so...” He said an in-out line would probably be the prettiest. When I brought up lateral and lower canthoplasty, he said lateral and lower canthoplasty would likely make me look sad, so he recommended lateral canthoplasty + lowering the outer eye corners. I’m not sure there’s a big difference, but since I’m an exam-taking student, he said he’d do it at the canthoplasty price, so I said I’d do it.
