Eye Re-Surgery

Third time trying double eyelid surgery only,,^^ I think I finally finished this time (nose too…

<1 month><1 month><before second eye revision><after second eye revision><before nose surgery><before and after nose surgery><nose change process>*As the title says, I’m someone who’s had double eyelid surgery three times, so... this review is probably going to be long too. I hope it helps even a little for those who, like me, have been suffering emotionally because of revision surgery. For reference, I’m from outside Seoul. I always heard that cosmetic surgery is famous in Seoul, but realistically it’s hard to go back and forth to Seoul for surgery, and double eyelid surgery isn’t even that difficult of an operation (I overlooked that then..), so I thought maybe getting it done in my own area would be fine and went to a somewhat well-known plastic surgery clinic in my region. I have somewhat thick skin and they said it was hard to fix the crease, so from the first surgery I was recommended partial incision. I was a teenager then, so of course I didn’t really know about incision vs. non-incision, and I just nodded along and went ahead with what the clinic told me to do, so I think I ended up with whatever shape the clinic had randomly chosen rather than the eye style I actually wanted. People around me even said the line wasn’t pretty enough to make it worth having had double eyelid surgery at all.. Honestly, I thought it was a total disaster, but since I was a minor at the time, I didn’t even think about filing a complaint with the clinic, and got a revision surgery 2 years later. Back then, because the first surgery had been partial incision, this time I went with full incision. Hmm... at first I was satisfied. Compared to the first surgery, the line became a bit more distinct. But as time passed, the inner corner of my left eye got covered, and the two eyes ended up looking uneven Well, if it had been natural it wouldn’t have been so upsetting, but I had already spent money twice to make it happen, and because a double crease formed, I had this tired-looking impression. But by then I’d already failed twice, and since there was no guarantee I wouldn’t fail again, I think I gave up because it was too hard to take the risk. And then almost 10 years passed.. I didn’t want to get even more stressed about my eyes anymore, and I also wanted surgery on my nose as well, not just my eyes (I have a wide nose tip and a hump) And by then I had gathered every bit of information I could find, so I thought I shouldn’t get surgery in my neighborhood and should go to Seoul! Since this was my third eye surgery rather than my nose, I was very anxious that if I just got it at a general plastic surgery clinic, it would fail again. So I searched around for an eye-specialized clinic, and even searching online, in a field half covered in ads and half covered in events, it was so hard to find a clinic that was truly good at eye surgery The best I could do was read reviews until they were worn out, and check the surgeon’s consultation skills. I discarded clinics right away if they gave a sloppy consultation, and I think I ended up choosing a place that explained my eyes, my nose, and the state of my eyes after revision surgery in detail. At Ollo, I spent almost an hour just consulting with the director. Then another hour passed while the manager explained the cost, precautions, aftercare, and so on. Even though they didn’t know yet whether I would actually get surgery there, there was not a single moment of careless treatment, and they explained everything with real sincerity. At the end, they even told me that since this was my third surgery, I should decide very carefully. For reference, for my eyes I had incision, ectropion correction, and inner, upper, and lower canthoplasty. For the canthoplasty too, the clinic had equipment to measure eye prominence, so they used it to check whether canthoplasty was possible and whether a repeated inner canthoplasty would make my eyes look overly close together, which I liked. For my nose, I had previously had filler.. so I told the director that, and I said I wanted a semi-out eye style but didn’t want my nose to look flashy, and the director said that in their view, if the goal was to make the facial features harmonious, that direction would be better too, and that they should focus on correcting the wide nose tip and hump, and since the nose was short compared with my overall facial proportions and the proportions didn’t match, correction for a short nose had to be included. Even when explaining one thing, they didn’t just say, “We’ll put in silicone~” or anything like that, but explained it in a way I could understand, and I liked that. I’m taking photos whenever I remember so I can show everyone the result as well as possible, but I’m disappointed that it doesn’t show in photos as well as I’d hoped. Still, I don’t want to relax yet. I’m planning to keep an eye on it for 3 months, 6 months, and a year. The clinic isn’t the kind that just leaves you alone after surgery either, so I think I can wait with more peace of mind. Hmm.. and now that I think about it, I regretted having my first and second surgeries without properly hearing the explanation. But I’m going to stop blaming myself for my bad choices now! This time, the director who performed my third revision also checked my progress, and smiled while saying the surgery came out really well and suited me so naturally, and it felt like all the hard times I’d been through just melted away.. My eyes are bigger than before, so I like them, and I think the fact that the double crease disappeared helped the most. I wrote this because I hope everyone will make a careful decision before getting surgery.
