Review of Revision Rhinoplasty Using Autologous Costal Cartilage

<Before><Before><Before><After><After><After>I had revision rhinoplasty using autologous costal cartilage with Dr. Kim Hyun-joo at a plastic surgery clinic. First, for my initial rhinoplasty, I had surgery on the nasal bridge and nasal tip using ear cartilage and silicone in a regional area. I was more or less satisfied at the time, but at some point my nasal bridge started to swell, I felt heat, and the area between my eyebrows protruded a lot. It felt like I was getting an Avatar nose.. I wondered, is this silicone inflammation? So I searched through apps and online communities for revision rhinoplasty hospitals, focusing on places known for autologous costal cartilage rhinoplasty. Among the reviews, I picked the ones I liked most, especially reviews of revision surgery for contracted nose and contracted nose reconstruction, got information, went around for consultations, and had surgery at the place I liked best. Both the consultant and the doctor gave me serious consultations without leaving anything lacking, which I liked. After receiving recommendations on what could be improved and safe materials, I decided to use all autologous cartilage: autologous costal cartilage for the nasal bridge - nasal tip - autologous costal cartilage. When the splint was removed, I was extremely swollen, and while removing the splint, the doctor checked whether there were any uncomfortable areas and looked after the treatment even more carefully, so I felt this was not a place that just ends after surgery, but one that is also meticulous about care. The nasal tip and bridge line turned out just as I had wanted, which was really important because meeting my needs was essential, and I also really like the side profile and front-oblique lines... The columella correction went well, so I am very satisfied and happy with it. However, I think I will know more once the swelling from the front goes down further. From the front, it still looks quite tight and swollen, so I am not 100 percent satisfied yet, but the doctor told me the swelling will go down more and it will improve, so I feel reassured. Since the surgery was done using my own material, I also feel relieved, thinking I probably will not have an inflammatory reaction to an implant like before.

This review is a surgical review pursuing a natural-yet-defined look.
