Review of hospital consultations I researched online for rhinoplasty

Hi everyone I went for consultations at four hospitals in total. I’m thinking of writing a review. Just in case, I won’t reveal the hospital names, but if anyone is curious where they are, you can look at my previous post or leave a private comment and I’ll tell you. Please note that it’s hard for me to reply to anonymous users or anyone who has been reported before. The questions I asked the consultants and doctors are below. I think everyone can refer to them when asking questions. Of course, these are based on my standards, so your desired look may be different, so please keep that in mind. ※Questions (consultant) - How postoperative care is handled, and whether later revision/after-service is possible - Whether free CCTV viewing is available ※Questions (doctor) - I want to use only septal cartilage and ear cartilage; how high can the nasal tip be made?   (Silicone is okay if needed / I don’t want it too high) - Whether alar base reduction is necessary - I’ve heard that rhinoplasty requires revision surgery; what is the doctor’s opinion? - Concern about nasal tip drooping when using septal cartilage - Whether a natural or dramatic nose would suit me 1. First hospital Order: CT scan, angle photos - consultant - doctor - consultant I asked various questions and got answers, and they said this hospital uses general anesthesia. It was the first time I’d heard of general anesthesia rather than sedation for rhinoplasty (maybe I just hadn’t researched enough), so I found it odd, but I just thought, okay, I see, and moved on. (I asked other hospitals whether there are cases where general anesthesia is used for rhinoplasty, and they said it may happen, but they don’t do it unless necessary. The reason is that intubation is needed and there are tests that must be done beforehand, which is inconvenient for the patient; unlike sedation, waking up after surgery takes longer and it can put a heavy burden on the body, so they don’t do it unless necessary.) The price varies widely depending on what surgery it is, what materials are used, and so on, so I won’t talk about it separately. It was just a reasonable price. - Conclusion: A generally okay hospital, but the anesthesia bothered me a bit. No consultation fee. 2. Second hospital Order: camera photos (no CT) - consultant - doctor - consultant First, my desired look is natural. So I said I wanted to use only ear cartilage and septal cartilage, but the consultant flatly said I absolutely had to use costal cartilage, so I was a bit taken aback. Of course, since using only ear cartilage and septal cartilage can cause the nasal tip to drop, I understand why they said that, but I was quite taken aback. For reference, the reason I don’t want to use autologous costal cartilage is that it leaves a scar and hurts so, so much. I ruled out donated cartilage because it’s not my own cartilage and that made me uneasy. Anyway, they said I had to use rib cartilage, so I said okay for now and moved on. After that, I consulted with the doctor, and among all the hospitals I went to, this doctor was the kindest and best. They explained things I hadn’t even asked about in detail, so I was very, very satisfied. (Please refer to the questions above.) The price is on the high side. I was shocked when I heard the price.. - Conclusion: The consultant wasn’t great, but the doctor was very good. But the price is a bit.. 3. Third hospital Order: photos (no CT) - consultant - doctor - consultant This was personally the hospital I most wanted to go to. Their aesthetic matched mine so well. Both the consultant and the doctor were fine, but there was one thing that bothered me. When I had researched it, I clearly saw that an anesthesiology specialist was on-site, but when I asked about general anesthesia, I was told that an anesthesiology specialist was not on-site. And the doctor I consulted with just felt a bit off to me. That’s just my feeling, so you can take it with a grain of salt. The price is expensive, but after various discounts it becomes reasonable. But the discount was almost half, so I was like, huh? - Conclusion: It was good, but the lack of an on-site anesthesiology specialist bothers me a lot. I probably won’t go. 4. Fourth hospital Order: CT scan - consultant - doctor - consultant It was a consultation I booked without thinking much, but it was really good. They didn’t just take simple CT images; they also took 3D images. So I could see very clearly what contours my face has. When I told the doctor, “This is what I want,” they explained very clearly: this part like this, that part like that. What I liked most was that they don’t use implants and don’t put cotton inside the nose. They also don’t use silicone. Of course, if I wanted it they would use it, but they said in my case they wouldn’t. They said they don’t use cotton because they achieve hemostasis well so blood doesn’t come out. As I listened to the explanation, I could feel the consultant’s pride in their hospital. The price is on the expensive side. Personally, I liked this hospital the most. - Conclusion: Very good. I really like it. So I went to a total of 4 places. They say that when you go around for consultations, there comes a moment when you think, “This is the place.” For me, it was the last place I went for a consultation. This consultation review reflects my personal taste. It may not be helpful for people who want a dramatic look. And I’m sure subjective judgment went into it. So please refrain from deciding to do it just after reading this post. You absolutely have to go for consultations yourself and decide carefully.
