I used to work at a well-known brow lift clinic and then opened a new practice, so I went for a consultation. The previous place was a clinic that extended the incision from the brow area all the way to the nose area to solve all the sagging around the eyes. But after opening their own clinic, they said they would operate according to their own philosophy: because the scar from the inner brow area becomes noticeable, they would make the incision while leaving one-third of the eyebrow untouched, so the scar is less visible, but the drooping of the front part of the eye doesn’t improve. So they said they would lift only the front half of the eye with their own method (upper canthoplasty), but honestly it doesn’t really make sense to me. The whole point of brow lift surgery is that if someone has thick-looking eyes and wants them thinner, they do an incision in the brow area rather than the eye area. But then to ignore the intention behind that surgery and only incise the front half? It feels inconsistent. As expected, after seeing the post-op photos, the improvement in the front part was almost nonexistent, maybe only about 20%. In that case, I feel it would be better to accept some scar and make the incision all the way to the inner brow area near the nose so all the sagging parts can be lifted. It doesn’t seem like the front sagging improves as much as on YouTube.
