I had surgery done for my mom, and at first she said, "What surgery at my age? I'll just live like this..." But after seeing my great-aunt have surgery, she suddenly said maybe she should at least get a consultation.. so we just did same-day surgery at the hospital where my great-aunt had hers done. For a few days after surgery, getting treatment was so hard, so I really regretted it a lot and thought maybe we should have just done it somewhere nearby in Busan. She booked a hotel in Seoul and stayed for a week.. and I took care of all of that, going through so much trouble Anyway, the director gave a really thorough consultation, and even on the day of surgery, the consultation staff didn't look down on us for coming up from the countryside and took even better care of us, so I felt reassured. My mom is now going around telling people she was glad she had the surgery.. A facelift is something you really need to look into carefully, and I was worried because she just saw my great-aunt's good result and went straight into surgery, but anyway, right now my mom seems maximally satisfied lol. If I think of it as having done my lifelong filial duty early, I feel at ease.
