I went in to get another procedure, and they recommended fat repositioning, so without knowing anything, I had a consultation and then got the surgery.
When they said it was a simple surgery, I thought it would be like a procedure, with no major change, or even if something went wrong, it would be easy to reverse, but I crossed a river I can’t return from.
For lower eyelid fat removal, if they do not remove only the protruding part and instead remove too much, the under-eye area can become hollow, 1. in dark places, shadows form along the shape of the bone, 2. in bright places, it actually looks more hollow and gaunt, 3. when looking downward, a side effect where the under-eye area rolls inward can occur, and it cannot be restored.
After going to other hospitals too, I was told they would have recommended only fat grafting rather than lower eyelid fat repositioning, and I agree as well. They removed fat from under-eyes where even repositioning would not have been recommended, so it was an obvious result. I regret my past self for not looking around for consultations.
The more I looked into it, I found that there are quite a few people like me who went in for another procedure, were recommended this, had the surgery, and then complained of side effects, so if you do not want to create the most regrettable event of your life, I hope you thoroughly look into whether any surgery is right for you before deciding.
Even if a doctor recommends it, in the end, they are the same kind of person, and it is their own subjective judgment.
My personal wish is that they would not recommend surgeries that other people had not even been considering.
I am dissatisfied because not only am I unhappy with the surgical result, but I also received no postoperative care at all.
