<Reason I decided to have surgery> Ever since I was young, I hated my wide, square face My side cheekbones stuck out even when I covered them with my hair or wore a mask I like wearing hats, but they made my face shape stand out even more and made my face look big The sadness of not being free with hairstyles either My parents were strongly against it, so I hadn't been able to do it until now But before I got any older, I made up my mind and decided In the end, I went through with it, though I got scolded a lot In the end, they gave in
I had gone for consultations at a few other hospitals in the past But most of them felt unfriendly, so I wasn't really drawn to them At the facial contouring clinic, everyone was kind, and they didn't pressure me much during the consultation They pointed out only the areas I really needed, and when I mentioned two celebrities as references They analyzed things well in different ways, and above all I liked that they focused specifically on facial contouring and nothing else Also, other people's review photos looked less like excessive editing And more like, if you actually shave the bone, this is how it would look, so that made me trust them too
-Day 1 after surgery After waking up, I felt so nauseous I thought I was going to die... To the point that people who said they walked out fine seemed amazing to me I was nauseated and vomited a bit, and it got on the blanket, but they told me it was okay There wasn't really much pain in my face after surgery Because of the compression band, it pulled and my skin hurt a little, but I didn't have any numbness or issues like that And strangely, I could feel even by touching that my cheekbones had moved inward laterally After retching for about an hour or two and emptying my stomach, I felt better, got discharged, picked up my prescribed medicine at the pharmacy, booked a hotel, and slept I had no strength in my body, and since I'm from outside Seoul, there was no way I could take the train back the same day in that condition For those coming up from other regions, I recommend booking a room and just sleeping before going back
-Days 2~3 It was uncomfortable that I couldn't lie on my side when sleeping But fortunately my face didn't hurt They told me to eat a liquid diet, so I bought New Care and drank it I also drank a lot of water, had soup, and ate mini castella and soft tofu Because my mouth didn't open well, eating was uncomfortable too As for facial swelling, I'm not normally the type to swell much But since there were intraoral incisions, I think swelling can't be helped I didn't really have bruising except yellow bruises For showers, I used the waterproof band they gave me
-Week 1 That day I went up to have the cheekbone stitches removed and came back down Yellow bruising had run down around my cheekbones and neck But because I did cold compresses diligently, the bruises on my neck went away quickly And only a slight bruise remained on my left cheekbone Also, I really wanted to eat meat, but while eating one small neobiani It got too hard (lol) So I ate beef vegetable porridge and noodles I also started brushing my teeth gently, but because my mouth wouldn't open My jaw hurt a bit every time I brushed
-Weeks 2~3 In week 2, I went to have the intraoral stitches removed and get a CT scan It hurts a bit when they remove them, but it's bearable There was some bleeding, but it stopped quickly Actually, even on the day of surgery, I didn't have intraoral bleeding So I fortunately didn't have to bite down on gauze And from this point on, I think I ate a lot of things I ate pizza, cut chicken into very tiny pieces and ate it My mom made me food to mix with minced meat I also had seaweed soup cooked softly Anyway, if I could eat it, I think I ate it carefully... Since eating also seems important for recovery...
-After one month I went up again that day for imaging Confirmed that the bones had healed well, and I'm on my way back It's nice that I can live a little more freely now The facial swelling has definitely gone down a lot compared with the one-week mark But I can still feel that the swelling inside my mouth hasn't gone down as much yet Only the cheek area feels tight and firm Because of the swelling, at first I wondered whether they really shaved my square jaw But as time passes, the line is starting to show, so I'm looking forward to a few months later even more When I take pictures with a camera, I look swollen because of the lens angle of view But in person my face is slim, so I'm satisfied Especially when wearing masks and hats, it's nice that my cheekbones don't stick out I think I need to work hard on managing the residual swelling. I was too careless with warm compresses T.T
Anyway, overall I'm satisfied But thinking about the first day, I don't think I could do it twice lololol Still, if I had to do it again, I think I would lolol
