Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Six months after double jaw surgery haha, doing jiu-jitsu and hearing my grandmother say I am pretty

These days daily life has become much more comfortable to the point that I can do exercise like jiu-jitsu again! It has been half a year since my double jaw surgery! I received double-jaw and contouring surgery from Dr. Shin Heejin at IYU Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and it has already been 6 months since I had it haha! I originally had a congenital underbite and a fairly severe facial asymmetry because my jaw was twisted to the right. At a clinic where I had previously consulted for orthodontic treatment, I was also advised to have surgery because of the asymmetry and malocclusion, but back then I was young and scared of double-jaw surgery, so I only did orthodontics without surgery T_T But after becoming an adult, my jaw pain gradually got worse, and every time I took photos I was stressed out because my prognathic jaw and asymmetry bothered me, so I eventually decided to have double-jaw surgery! When I was looking for a clinic, I focused on oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics that mainly treat double-jaw surgery, and I also read a lot of actual patient reviews. Then I learned about IYU Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. There were many different reviews, and there was also a lot of material on YouTube about double-jaw surgery and the surgical process, so I looked through everything one by one, had a consultation, liked it, and decided to go ahead. Now it has already been 6 months, so I can do rougher exercise like jiu-jitsu again lol! I can eat hard or chewy food too, and I can feel hot and cold properly, so there are many fewer uncomfortable parts in daily life, which is great! There is still a slight feeling under my cheek like the anesthesia has not fully worn off!! But since it is still only the six-month mark, and personally I feel much more satisfied with the changes after surgery, it is not something that bothers me much yet! Also, I remember being quite satisfied even from week 3 haha. It is embarrassing, but after the surgery I met my grandmother, and she said my face had become so pretty and took a lot of photos of me lol That moment made me feel really happy and proud for no reason. Even now, every time I look in the mirror, I like the changed face shape, and as time passes I can see the jawline that used to be blurry gradually coming back more clearly, so I am satisfied 😚😚! And these days, beyond the cosmetic changes, I feel even greater satisfaction from the way my bite is coming together well. As I continue orthodontic treatment, my occlusion is getting easier and easier, and the parts that used to stress me out because of the malocclusion have become much more comfortable! It is not as if I had no hard times at all after the double-jaw surgery, of course, but looking back now, the biggest feeling I have is gratitude toward myself for enduring that process well haha. Now, after 6 months, I do not regret the surgery at all. The more beautiful face shape is great, but I suddenly realized how comfortable it is to have a proper bite, so these days that part makes me even happier haha!!~!
