I wanted double-eyelid surgery, but I did not think the trendy semi-out line or dramatic eyes would suit me at all, so I looked for a place that would operate as naturally as possible and got surgery there.
I visited exactly 3 places: one large clinic and two private clinics! The large clinic recommended all kinds of procedures to me, saying I should not only get eye surgery but also do my nose, forehead filler, and so on.. so I turned toward private clinics. Among them, I chose the place where, when I asked the director one thing, they explained the surgical method in detail from an expert perspective! They explained most clearly what the problems with my eyes were and how the surgery should be done to improve my sleepy-looking eyes. Besides that, all the hospital staff were kind, and I liked that it felt private. (At another hospital, the consultation felt like they were just trying to hold onto me to make an appointment, but here the consultant treated me comfortably and said it is right to look carefully into plastic surgery, while fully empathizing with the things I would be worried about from my perspective.)
Because I have a lot of fat on my upper eyelids, everywhere I went told me to do an incisional method. But people always say incisional double-eyelid surgery causes a lot of swelling, right? But when I actually got it, even on day 1, opening my eyes was more manageable than expected.. and it was not severe. (I think swelling and bruising really vary case by case!) At that time, the director also said the surgery went well, and that once the stitches were removed, the swelling would keep going down quickly, so I was not too worried.
Honestly, one month after incisional surgery? I had heard that even with makeup, it could still look obviously surgical and feel too much, so I was worried.. But from week 3, I wore makeup just fine and went around normally. I do not think incisional surgery always means severe swelling.. The director recommended an in-out double-eyelid line, and I think it was a good choice to do it this way~ I strongly recommend everyone get surgery from a director who finds a line that suits your own eye shape well!
