I had my first augmentation 10 years ago, and the reason I started looking into a revision was that the sensation felt off and the rippling (implant visibility) was so severe... When I took my clothes off, it was really obvious to anyone that it was an artificial surgical breast This was so stressful, and it meant I couldn’t even comfortably take my clothes off at the usual pool or sauna, or when meeting men Instead, I started feeling less confident, and that was the biggest reason I decided on revision surgery But since I live outside Seoul, in my area there’s only one large, well-known hospital, and no specialty clinics or famous hospitals There just aren’t hospitals around here that people would normally think of for breast surgery (at most, only clinics known for double eyelids or nose surgery) So after thinking it over, I went to Seoul to do in-person consultations, and when I worked out the bus time from home to the train station and the time of the last train, I realized I didn’t have time to go around to multiple places, so I just booked two places and went. I guess it’s okay to name the full hospitals in this review..? I went to Glam and Woowa. The consultations didn’t take long, but going back and forth really wore me out.. For everyone who doesn’t have time because of work or for whatever reason and is looking up revision surgery info instead of going to consultations I squeezed out some time to write this review, so take a look! My memory isn’t that great, so the content may not be very thorough.. Please use this only as a reference, and I hope you’ll check the accurate details yourself later during an actual consultation!!
Woowa Consultation: The director explained things in a way that was easy to understand. They also did an ultrasound, and fortunately they said I didn’t have any major capsule problems. For the rippling, since my body currently has very little fat, the biggest solution is to put on some weight first (I did lose a lot of weight compared to 10 years ago..) They said I should choose an implant with a good fill rate, and recommended Motiva! For the incision site, they said there was no need to make another incision somewhere else, and that it could be done through the armpit incision Clinic system: One lifetime after-service visit; for aftercare, starting 3 weeks after surgery and continuing until 3 months, I’d come in every 2 weeks for capsule swelling management. From 3 months onward, they do radiofrequency care at monthly intervals. At 6 months, they provide scar laser and salmon injections in collaboration with dermatology. Full CCTV viewing is available, and hospitalization is possible My personal impression: I was satisfied with the director’s consultation, but as for the rest... I’m not sure.... For a place that’s supposedly very famous for revisions, it didn’t feel especially like a breast specialty clinic, more like a clinic that simply also does breasts well? And there’s a review event.. Glam Consultation: Same here, on ultrasound the capsule condition was clean and there were no signs of rupture, and they said the biggest current cause of my breast issue was that there wasn’t much breast tissue and the skin was soft (not thick, but thin), and that I had forced in an unmanageable cc volume, so after losing weight it ended up like this. They said the first priority was to reduce the size, and that using Motiva with a good fill rate to prevent implant wrinkling, improve the feel, and shape the breast properly was the right approach. If I wanted an armpit incision, it could be done through the armpit, but they said the more favorable option was the inframammary fold. Right now the inframammary fold is awkwardly short, so extending it while shaping the lower breast into a rounder form would be better. The manager was extremely experienced, and the director, as I had seen in reviews, was blunt but explained everything that needed explaining, so I had no major complaints. Honestly, I thought it was cleaner than someone constantly making unnecessary jokes Clinic system: One lifetime after-service visit; aftercare is basically 1 year, and even after that, if needed or if you want it, they’ll provide care without extra charge. From 2 weeks after surgery, you come in at 1-week intervals for light therapy. At 1 month they do circulation care, and starting at 2 months they do CHAPS extracorporeal shock wave therapy, high-frequency therapy, and lifting laser care, plus scar management. Until 3 months, visits are once a month, and after that they do tactile-sensation care once every 3 months. Full CCTV viewing is available, and hospitalization is possible My personal impression: It felt like a clinic that really gives you the sense of, “this is how a breast specialty clinic should be.” Everything seemed customized for breast patients, and from the manager to all the staff, they repeatedly emphasized that they’ve all worked there for a long time, which made it feel more trustworthy. Usually when surgery goes wrong and problems come up, staff change a lot, but here they said the manager hasn’t changed once since opening (for over 10 years). That was the part that raised my trust the most. And here, there were no review-posting discount conditions or anything like that; it was fixed pricing. They said they absolutely do not pressure people into writing reviews after surgery.
As I wrote, this got pretty full.. If I judge by consultation satisfaction, both were good in different ways, but if I include the overall system, I still felt the specialty clinic was better!! Still, that’s something each person feels differently about, so everyone should go for consultations themselves and decide what seems good and what feels lacking! I still haven’t booked the revision yet, but before it gets any colder I’m planning to get a date quickly.. If I do it, I’m thinking of going with Motiva, so the cost is terrifying;; I guess I’ll have to keep saving money
