<Surgical details from the first surgery><Surgical details from the revision surgery>Because I had a severe hooked nose, I started going for consultations as soon as winter came during the COVID period in my early 20s. My criteria while looking around were roughly: lots of experience with implant-free surgery + lots of experience with hooked nose surgery + a one-doctor clinic specializing in rhinoplasty + anesthesiology medical staff available + CCTV available.
It has already been almost 3 years since the surgery, but I wrote things down in detail at the time, copying the director's chart whenever I could so I could remember as much as possible, so I'm sharing the information. As you can see from my notes from the first surgery, it was a very tricky and difficult nose.. So I remember the cost and process were a bit more than for other people.
Because my hooked nose was so severe, my satisfaction with the first surgery itself was about 75%..? However, my skin was very thin, and I felt the side profile from the bridge down to the nasal tip was a bit disappointing, so right after 6 months had passed, in the summer of 2021, I had revision surgery at the same hospital where I had the first surgery, with only the material fee charged, to reinforce it with postauricular fascia.
And now I think my satisfaction is roughly around 85%. Only my family knows I had nose surgery, so acquaintances sometimes compliment me and say my nose is pretty. To be honest, my nose itself had asymmetry, a deviated nose, a hooked bridge, short columellar skin, thin skin, etc., so it was the kind of nose where I couldn't get greedy like other people by putting in silicone or raising the nasal tip more haha... So I think it actually came out harmonious and natural-looking.
Now I'm already in my mid-20s, and after surgery the swelling has gone down, and because I keep using the depressor muscle in daily life, the nasal tip has dropped a bit, but I think this is actually more natural. (Of course, if you ask me, if I could go back, would I have surgery at this hospital again..? Honestly, I think I would think about it and look into other places more.) Unless major side effects or huge changes happen, I plan to live like this..~
* Also, everyone probably knows to filter them out by now, but just don't trust app reviews. I wrote a review too, and later they told me to Photoshop the nasal tip line more before uploading it. * Make sure to remember and write down the surgery details and consultation content as much as possible..! That way, even if you end up having another revision surgery later, you can properly explain your current condition.
