Before-before-after-after-after-after-after I had my first nose surgery 8 years ago and had been getting by okay, but starting around 4 years ago, my nose became crooked, the nasal tip drooped, and I started having a hard, tingling sensation, even signs of contracture,, I didn’t have heat or pain, but suddenly I would periodically feel like my nose was tightening, so I thought this couldn’t go on and had revision surgery at a clinic. Before surgery, my left nostril was blocked, so breathing was uncomfortable, and when viewed from the front, the crooked nose was really, really stressful (the nostril shapes were different too). When I had a CT scan, they said my nose was congenitally crooked, so it would be difficult to improve it perfectly. I did wonder why such important things hadn’t been told to me at the hospital where I had my first surgery, but I also felt relieved that I found out even now.
I earnestly asked them, saying it just had to be better than before no matter what, and even if it wasn’t perfect, I’d be fine as long as it didn’t look severely crooked.
I went to so many consultations besides this clinic too, and all of them recommended autologous costal cartilage, so after hearing it repeatedly, my understanding of autologous costal cartilage reached max level. I felt like I definitely needed to use it.
To summarize, because of my nasal obstruction issue, I also had functional rhinoplasty, and I also had bulbous nose correction and alar lowering to adjust the nostril shape. Because I had signs of contracture, I avoided an overly dramatic nose, but human greed is really scary, because I also didn’t want it to be too natural So we set the design toward a naturally glamorous look, and now I’m 1 month post-op. I know very well that it was a difficult case, so I’m also afraid of what kind of changes may happen as time passes, but they say the surgery went well, and I like the shape from the front and side, and the crooked nose really improved a lot, so I’m truly satisfied with that part. Because I had a lot done, the swelling seems pretty severe? Just looking at the glabella area,, it’ll gradually go down, right,, I’m trying to stay strong and control my mind so I don’t spiral from looking in the mirror every day.
