Nose Surgery Reviews

I went for a procedure consultation, got turned away(?), so I went for rhinoplasty consultations

For the procedure consultation, I went to ㅇㄹㄴ and ㅁㅇㅍ. I even brought photos with me, you know, the kind of nose I wanted? I brought a somewhat glamorous-looking nose, and they said this kind of nose can’t be achieved with a procedure and that I’d need surgery. The estimate was around 1.4 to 1.6 million won (5 or 6 threads / 1 cc filler). The wait was a bit long, but they did the consultation well, so I was satisfied.

After that, surgery consultations.

ㅂㄴㄴ They asked whether I had ever had anything done to my nose, whether I had surgery before, and so on, and told me to mention even procedures. It seemed like the patient check has to be accurate for them to give a surgical diagnosis too~ Anyway, I told them I hadn’t had anything done, took photos and a CT, and met the consultant first. When I said I had originally been thinking about a procedure, she explained in detail what happens if you get a procedure and what difficulties there can be during rhinoplasty ^^.. It made me think I was glad I didn’t get a procedure.. lol If you’re thinking about rhinoplasty, it does seem better not to get procedures. Adhesions and so on.. It seemed like they first have to deal with the spreading, and the nose has to be kept open for too long. Anyway, I talked a lot with the consultant about my needs, and based on that, we went into the doctor consultation together and talked. The consultant wrote down the diagnoses? the doctor gave me next to us, and if there was a surgery she thought was necessary but the doctor didn’t mention, she checked and asked again.. For example, she thought osteotomy was needed, but since he didn’t mention it separately, she asked again, and the doctor clearly said, “Osteotomy is not needed”..?? He said it would still come out glamorous without doing it. He also drew the line on a pad to show me and held a mirror while directly holding the shape for me. During the final consultant consultation, she showed me before-and-after photos of cases with noses similar to mine, and they had turned out so well.. I was tempted enough to want to book right away, but I got a grip. I shouldn’t get swayed here.. I need to think more carefully and go around to a lot more places.. There was no pressure about the reservation deposit. Rather, they said if I put down a deposit and contact them one week before (based on the surgery date), it’s 100% refundable. They said hospitals like this are rare~ They explained that I’d pay about 10%? of the surgical estimate as a deposit and pay the remaining balance on the day of surgery. Oh, and they said if I had gotten filler, they would remove it on the same day and then go into surgery~ For everyone here who has had procedures, take note.

ㄷㅇㅇ It was my first time going to a large hospital for a consultation, and when I thought about how they used several whole floors, wow.. it immediately made me think, so this is how Korea is such a plastic surgery powerhouse lol The wait wasn’t that long. I think I waited in the lobby for 20 minutes and then went in? For a large hospital, that’s basically no wait lol.. There were many consultation rooms and a lot of people.. I saw many foreigners too. Interesting.. Still, I didn’t feel like the consultation was chaotic. I kept waiting in the room, then saw the consultant, then the doctor, and so on. If I’d had to stay in the lobby, it might have felt chaotic, but since I waited inside and only the people doing the consultation came and went, not really.. I just had to sit there.. Both the doctor and consultant were kind, and while looking at photos of the nose line I wanted, they explained in detail what surgical method would be used. Here, they suggested osteotomy and said to do a slight alar reduction. I think they matched it because I said I wanted it glamorous. But it was confusing, since that part hadn’t come up at other places. haha And because they thought my septal cartilage might be insufficient, they suggested using donated costal cartilage, and said to use donated costal cartilage together with ear cartilage. They said ear cartilage should be used for the nasal tip for it to come out nicely rounded. Silicone was 4 mm. One distinctive thing about aftercare was that they explained there is a separate progress-check team. I asked, doesn’t the doctor personally check it? and they said the progress-check team would examine it thoroughly. Since rhinoplasty aftercare is about swelling care, stitch removal, and things like that anyway. Instead, I heard that the doctor will check the progress after a certain amount of time has passed after surgery. I wondered if the system ended up this way because they’re all large hospitals. Since there are so many people, they just made a dedicated team, an aftercare care team..

For now, I’ve been to these two places first, and I plan to go to the remaining place I booked within this week. How many rhinoplasty consultations do I need to go to..
