I’m in Busan. In 2009, I had double eyelid surgery by incision + epicanthoplasty, and after one year, the left side came undone. In 2010, they said both sides needed to be done, so I had revision surgery (double eyelid surgery only). I lived like that, but gradually the right side came undone, and the epicanthoplasty on my right eye also became hook-shaped.
Someone I know had a successful revision surgery, so I started going for consultations. Last Friday, it wasn’t the same clinic my acquaintance went to, but after seeing reviews on the app and so on, I went for a consultation. The doctor understood what I wanted and was calm, so I trusted them and had the surgery. Now that I think about it, I do wonder if the posts on the app were ads, but it did seem like they do a lot of canthoplasty procedures.
For me, matching the symmetry was the most important thing, so I had a re-revision double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty on the right eye. It’s only day 3 after surgery, so there’s a lot of swelling, but as I see it going down little by little, there’s no hook shape from the epicanthoplasty, and it seems to look the same as the left side. But the rear line of the eye is high on the left and low on the right. On the right side, the incision line itself is low, so if I were to have a revision right away, it doesn’t seem like simply reopening the incision line and removing the upper skin would be enough. I think the incision line itself on the back part of the right eye would need to be set higher than it is now. In this kind of case, I’d have to wait 6 months, right..?
