My crooked teeth weren't that severe, but I was told Invisalign or clear aligners would be possible, so I went through 2 years of absolute hardship and am now doing wire braces again. Clear aligner-type treatments that involve changing the appliances have the advantage of being less noticeable and not requiring wires, but for people whose teeth are firm or whose tooth roots do not move well, it seems like they have no effect at all. The roots stayed exactly where they were, while only the teeth bent and moved, and then the aligner ended up tearing.
