My breasts were severely uneven, the areola shapes were uneven too, and the asymmetry became worse after breastfeeding. My tissue was not originally firm; it was soft and stretchy.
I had consultations at two hospitals, and one was the famous ㅂㅂ(ㅗㅇ...ㅗ..ㅇ). There, they said that aesthetically the uneven areolas needed to be matched, and the sagging side needed a lift with a T-incision. The cost was also in the 20 million won range...
They were uneven, but I wondered whether I really needed that much incision and whether a lift was absolutely necessary, so I went to a clinic with good reviews and lifetime aftercare.
During the consultation with Director Kim Ki-gap, he said that lifting one side and matching the areola shape is something that looks good from a doctor’s perspective, but it is not necessarily for the patient. If it does not bother me, the areola is okay. He said the sagging on one side could be improved by using different implants. His direction matched what I was thinking, and he thought from the patient’s perspective, so I felt he was the one, signed the contract, and had surgery right away.
One thing that bothered me was that he recommended slightly larger implants (I am tall and have a larger frame), but because I wanted a slender look, I insisted on smaller implants.
Right after surgery, the initial shape was okay, but after one week, bottoming out occurred... He calmly said it was indeed bottoming out and double bubble, and we decided to correct it first with a corrective bra. In between, he continued to see me consistently for checkups and progress. Then around 6 to 8 months, he suggested we try a correction procedure first.
This was moving too, because I felt burdened by having surgery again and wondered if I should just live with it, but he said, “You will feel stressed every time you look at it,” and recommended correction. It was free according to the hospital policy.
Because my tissue type is soft, sags easily, and stretches, the correction loosened quickly. At the 1-year mark, I asked about revision surgery with a slightly larger size that I had felt was lacking, and he said let’s do that.
This time, without capsule removal, he reduced the breast pocket and increased the implants to Motiva 340, 350? Something like that.
I am now 4 months post-op, and compared with my initial breast condition and the first surgery, it has improved so much. Most of all, I really like the shape and it looks natural. (I do not even think about my severely sagging, asymmetric breasts before surgery anymore.)
During the consultation and revision surgery, he treated me kindly so I would not feel nervous, acknowledged the parts that went wrong, and from the way he worked together with the patient, I could feel a craftsman-like professionalism.
I think breast surgery has a high possibility of side effects depending on tissue type or the original breast shape... That is why I really like this clinic’s system, and I really like the director’s mindset too. Although the first surgery failed, I have not seen another case besides mine where someone could improve things and undergo revision surgery with such peace of mind, so I am leaving this review. (In most cases, when surgery fails, the hospital acts like it has nothing to do with them... and the patient’s trust is gone too.)
