Review after more than 10 years since LASEK

(The name of the hospital where I had surgery wasn’t listed, so I applied one arbitrarily.) I had LASEK 11 years ago. Even if I could go back, I’d still get LASEK!! Highly recommend! My vision was so bad that I could only see things right in front of my nose. Compressed lenses 2-3 times were essential for my glasses. - Corneal thickness: before surgery right 595, left 580 -> after surgery left 498 / right 479, about that much change. - Glare/halos: glare definitely gets worse. It is a bit hard when driving. I did have some glare even before surgery. - Dry eyes: for a while after surgery, I lived with eye ointment and artificial tears.

Currently, on bright sunny days in summer and winter, my eyes do get very dazzled..... My current vision seems to be around 0.9. Even when I had the surgery, 1.0 was my maximum corrected vision. I work a job where I look at a monitor all day. I’m satisfied with this level.

I’ll know better after more time passes, but now, more than 10 years later, I’m satisfied with everything except sunlight in summer and winter. When the sunlight is strong, I wear sunglasses briefly. But I don’t wear them about 80% of the time....

When I was looking into hospitals back then, I think I also checked how many surgeries they did per day (I forgot the site though...) An acquaintance had surgery at a factory-style clinic, but their eyes got worse again, so they wear glasses now. Look into it carefully....

Anyway. Conclusion. Highly recommend LASEK.

This is a surgical review pursuing reconstruction.
