It’s probably lagophthalmos, right? What else could there be?
I’ve seen a lot of posts saying that the doctor who recommended eyelid skin excision is someone who operates very conservatively and meticulously, so I’m a little less worried in that sense, but I still wanted to know what possible side effects there could be, so I’m posting this.
These days I’m looking into revision surgery because of asymmetrical eyes + my crease coming undone, and my eyelid skin is a bit saggy, so one side is completely covered and has an inline crease. After getting consultations, it seems like my eyelid skin is thin and tends to sag easily.
I want a natural look, so I don’t want to raise the line too much, but then I’m worried it won’t show much at all. While I was struggling with that, the director at the clinic I consulted this time mentioned excision. At first, I felt resistant because I imagined eyes pulled tight like older people’s double-eyelid surgery.. but the more I think about it, the more I feel like that might be the right approach.
As for side effects, I saw a post saying that the skin gets thicker as it goes up toward the eyebrow, so if the skin near the eyelid is cut out, it could look a bit unnatural. I wonder how that would be? Could the eye design change depending on the shape of the excision? Or if it’s just excision, would the shape all be the same? Whether it’s excision or a lift, would only the eyebrow position be different and the eye shape itself be the same? What’s the difference? If I get excision and, just in case, just in case, I don’t like it, would revision surgery be impossible? (I hope that never happens) They say it’s a commonly done method, but I don’t think I’ve seen many reviews.
When I casually asked at another clinic, they didn’t recommend it. They said the space between my eyes and eyebrows is already close now, and if I do excision, it’ll get even closer. But I think that might be a matter of preference~ I think I’d be okay even if it’s close to my eyebrows haha. They said it would be better to raise the double-eyelid line instead, and later if it sags more, get a forehead lift. (Maybe they’re quite confident in forehead lifts too lol)
Anyway, I feel like the line will change depending on whether I do excision or not, so I’m really torn Please share any reviews from people who did excision together, worried about it, or had consultations about it, all of them!! Please~~~~
