I didn’t originally have no double eyelids at all. I did have a faint, weak line But my eye-opening strength was weak, and the line wasn’t distinct.. I decided on double eyelid surgery because I wanted the line to be firmly fixed + wanted my original eyes to become bigger
They usually say the AS period is 1 year, but maybe because this is a one-doctor clinic specializing in eyes? (Just my guess..) the AS period was 3 years. Of course no one thinks about revision surgery before even getting surgery, but you never know what can happen, so I liked the feeling that they weren’t just done after surgery, but would take responsibility for me even years later
The reason I wrote so much in the title is because it seems like everyone thinks that when getting double eyelid surgery, you absolutely have to do canthoplasty.. Actually I thought that way at first too, and with double eyelid surgery, I honestly also wanted to do non-incisional at first
When I went for the consultation, my eye-opening strength wasn’t good, and looking long~ term, incision seemed better, so after discussing with the director, I decided to do incisional surgery + ptosis correction together, and open the Mongolian folds with epicanthoplasty
Unless you have a clear reason like me, canthoplasty is not a surgery you absolutely must do. I hope you get surgery only when the director explains a clear reason, and that reason makes sense to you
Even until I got disinfection the day after surgery, the impression was very intense, but when I diligently did cold compresses as the clinic instructed, by day 3 the bruising and swelling had gone down a lot like in the photos~
After I had the stitches removed on day 7, it definitely didn’t seem as bad as I had worried, so I thought, from here on, reducing swelling is my part.. and diligently did warm compresses and light walks!
Even after I received all the surgery, the consultant continuously asked whether anything was uncomfortable or whether I had questions, and since it was a private clinic, I also liked that the director spent the time scheduled with me entirely on me
They reassured me that the swelling was going down well, so I felt emotionally stable too.. Hearing those words after seeing the director’s face also put my mind at ease So I think I worried a bit less
With incisional surgery, I usually think you can tell to some extent by one month, and contrary to my worries, within a month it became much more natural and felt like it was settling in Just in case, I also asked everyone here, and they said that at one month, it already looked really fine. For reference, now it’s been two months
I’m satisfied because it seems to have come out well as the in-out line I wanted, and if more residual swelling goes down from here, I think it will look even more natural, so I’m even more excited for what’s ahead
Everyone worried about swelling after incisional surgery, if you go regularly for the care the clinic provides like I did and work hard on swelling management, you’ll be able to get through it quickly~ Don’t worry too much
