I decided to have the surgery while I was out on terminal leave from the military.. My dry eye was severe, so they said I should get treatment first and then proceed with surgery, but I chose to just go ahead with it. On the dry eye test, they said that in ordinary people the tear film(?) disappears after 6-7 seconds, but in my case the dryness was so severe that it disappeared in less than 1 second.
After surgery, people can usually return to daily life in 2-3 days, but maybe because I had surgery when my condition was so severe, I remember that even after a week my eyes stung so much that I could barely open them. I looked up side effects and worried a lot, but in the end my eyes recovered properly, and the dryness I used to feel when wearing glasses disappeared completely. From the one-month mark, I've been happy as if they were completely my own eyes. My vision is still maintained at 1.5 and 1.5 now.
If anyone is worried after surgery because of dry eye like I was, it gets better with time, so don't worry too much!
