Around 10 years ago, wearing glasses was so inconvenient that I got LASIK surgery. My younger brother had the surgery first in Seoul, and I was staying in Busan for a while, so I got a discount and had the surgery at a large hospital affiliated with my company.
Before the surgery, they run tests all day. I had a lot of tests. I think I spent roughly 5 to 6 hours just on tests. People say that if you get LASIK, you’ll have side effects later~ or your eyesight will get worse again, and so on~ But in conclusion, I strongly recommend it. You get presbyopia anyway as you age~ and your eyesight gets worse. It doesn’t get worse because of LASIK; it naturally gets worse as you age.
On the first day, my eyes stung and tears kept streaming down, but from the second day on, I was fine. I had the surgery on Friday, rested for two days, and went straight to work on Monday. Because I had to keep looking at a computer, I carried sunglasses and protective glasses for eye protection. I did end up with dry eye syndrome, but I’m doing well by blinking often~ and using eye drops when my eyes feel too dry. My vision is still good, and among all the things I’ve spent money on for myself since I was born, LASIK was the best thing I ever did^^*
