I hit the bridge of my nose due to external impact. I went to a university hospital, had an X-ray, and got a consultation. They said there was a crack in the nasal bridge and that once the swelling went down, it would become uneven. I scheduled a surgery date and went into surgery. I wore a splint for over a week or so and could only breathe through my mouth. It was a hellish week... Since I was used to breathing through my nose, I would wake up in my sleep gasping and choking, and because I couldn’t smell, food had no taste.... My throat hurt a lot too, and anyway, it felt like hell... On the day the splint was removed, when they took out the cotton packed deep inside, I thought my whole nose was coming out with it. It was shockingly painful. About 8 years have passed, and somehow my nose seems slimmer than back then. It may just be because I lost weight, but I can’t help wondering if the doctor made it slightly prettier for me. They said if I get cosmetic surgery later, it would count as revision surgery.
