Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

Review at 2 Weeks and 1 Month After Two-Part Facial Contouring

Before<Before surgery>After<2 weeks after surgery>After<1 month after surgery>On 3/23, I had two-part facial contouring + revision rhinoplasty with Director Yoo Ji-han. To correct chin asymmetry and reduce the length, I had a long-curve surgery, and because I had a retruded chin, I also had chin-tip advancement. For my nose, the existing implant was removed, and the hump was shaved down without using an implant. When I was hospitalized on day 1, my nose was a bit blocked, so I was breathing through my mouth. There was a blood drain inside my mouth, and my throat was swollen, so it felt like my airway was narrowing. It became hard to breathe and I got anxious, but the nurse said it seemed psychological and told me not to just lie in the hospital room but to try walking around, so I calmed down a little. My throat was very dry and painful, so I could barely drink water, and I also could not drink the New Care they gave me, but maybe thanks to the IV fluids, I was not hungry. Because of the chin pain and the compression band, I was uncomfortable and basically stayed up all night before being discharged. After discharge, for a week, even when I was sleeping, I frequently rinsed my mouth with water about once an hour, and I only drank New Care while being careful not to get inflammation. Around the one-week mark, I became extremely hungry, so I only ate pumpkin porridge without any solids or thin rice gruel, and the director said I was managing it well. After removing the nasal splint and the compression taping, I kept taking walks, so the swelling has gone down a lot and the bruising is gradually fading too. The surgery focused on matching the symmetry of my nose and chin, so I am not sure yet whether the symmetry is right, but since it is only week 2, I think I will know once more swelling goes down.

(One-month progress) The overall major swelling has gone down a little, so I can put on makeup and go out, but I think the candy-like swelling in both cheeks will need a few more months to go down. Thinking about it now, I regret a little that I did not do my cheekbones too, but the 3 days after surgery were really hard, and I have no intention of going through that again, so I think I will just live like this.. My chin still feels dull, my muscles feel tight, and I have tooth clenching, but since it has only been one month, I am living with the belief that it will get better with time. However, these days, every time I eat something, I get chills from inside my mouth and an unpleasant creepy sensation, which is uncomfortable. At the one-month mark, I met a friend because we had plans, and they said my face looked shorter, so I felt that there definitely was an effect. I am worried about sagging going forward, but so far this is a surgery I do not regret, and I am looking forward to my overall facial contour after more swelling goes down.
