I had LASEK surgery 9 years ago. They said my corneas were very thin, so I wouldn’t be able to have a repeat surgery. The surgery itself was finished within 10 minutes. There was no pain, but it was a bit hard having to stay fully conscious and stare at just one spot during the surgery. Before surgery, I had a negative prescription, but I don’t remember exactly how severe it was. Right after surgery, both eyes were adjusted to about 1.0, but my vision gradually declined, and over the past few months it suddenly dropped sharply to 0.3, so I’m wearing glasses again At first, my vision seemed a bit worse because of dry eye syndrome, so when I used ophthalmic gel, I could see well again, but now it doesn’t come back even when I use the gel. Management is really important. They say cases like mine, where vision drops again, can also be influenced by genetics, so please keep that in mind;)

If possible, I recommend SMILE LASIK... LASEK hurts so much even after the surgery, and I lived for 3 days with the lights off, crying and with my nose running.. There’s also a lot to take care of, so it’s really cumbersome and annoying.
