After<before and after surgery>After<2 weeks>After<1 month>After<1 month>As I wrote in the title, in the past I didn’t have time for double eyelid surgery and didn’t really feel sure about it, so instead of surgery I lived with double eyelid tape.
I had a lot of eyelid fat and my skin was on the thicker side, but I stubbornly lived using double eyelid tape.. People who have used double eyelid tape or double eyelid glue for a long time know, right? It’s stressful even when you stick it on wrong, but removing it is even more stressful.. It’s sticky and doesn’t come off well even with foam cleanser, so it got all over my eyelids and was a mess.
But because it was the early stage, laziness won and I just left it like that. Then my eyelids already had a lot of fat, but they sagged even more, and gradually the visible area of my pupils from the front got narrower.. Even with double eyelid tape, my eyes looked too small, so I think that’s when I started thinking about surgery.
More than anything, people around me pushed me, saying my eyes were the type that would be a total success if I got double eyelid surgery haha, so I think that made me feel that way even more.
These days, even though semi-out lines are trendy, honestly that kind of glamorous line didn’t seem like it would suit me, so I absolutely looked for a place that would make the line natural. I didn’t care too much about the surgical method, but as expected, maybe because I used double eyelid tape for so long, every place I visited said I would need an incision method or that fat removal was essential.. So I said okay.
The reason I chose the clinic was because I have an introverted personality.. haha.. I chose a place without that particular hectic feeling inside, and where the director gave me enough time. I felt that way they would take responsibility for seeing me after surgery too.
Of course, I also checked whether I liked the line they designed during the consultation. In any case, I’d like it most only if the surgical result is good! The director also said that a natural line would harmonize much better with my eye shape than a flashy line, and I got surgery at the place where I liked the designed line the most.
In conclusion, I basically chose after looking at things like the clinic system, the line they designed, whether there was no overtreatment, and so on.
Honestly, in the early stage after surgery, I was startled because of the bruising haha.. Since I was already getting fat removal too, I thought recovery would be too slow if I did the incision method, so after consulting with the director, I did non-incision + fat removal + ptosis correction together, but I got some bruising under my eyes. But that all disappeared around day 3 (so I don’t even have photos from then), and the swelling was at its worst up to week 1.
After stitch removal, the swelling went down faster than I expected, and recovery was on the faster side too. As I said earlier, because doing it as naturally as possible was the most important thing to me.. I was just waiting for it to settle quickly, but even after 2 weeks it looked pretty natural. It was fascinating, so I took photos too. At that time, my friends said that even though I had ptosis correction and epicanthoplasty, this amount of swelling went down really fast.
Now it’s been two months since surgery, and the swelling has gone down even more, so it looks more natural than in the one-month photos haha.. It was my first cosmetic surgery, and I had used double eyelid tape for a long time before doing it, so I was worried whether it could turn out natural, but I’m relieved that it seems to be settling well without looking more excessive than I expected.
