I had so, so, so many worries about rhinoplasty side effects that before surgery I practically lived in this community, so I'm posting to try to be helpful too.
I had cartilage suturing + a columellar strut placed, and my nasal tip was raised with ear cartilage. I had a slight hump, so it was rasped down. I wanted just a little sharper and more refined impression.
Before getting cosmetic surgery, I tried things like nose inserts and all kinds of stuff, and after thinking and thinking a lot, I decided... When choosing a clinic, I looked for someone whose before photo was as similar as possible to my natural nose, then considered the after photo as my expected post-op nose and searched for a doctor whose shape I liked!
As for side effects... the sensation in my nose is definitely not the same as before. A foreign-body sensation...? If you call it that, then it is that. Try lifting your nasal tip slightly with your hand. It doesn't hurt or feel strange, but compared with leaving it alone, you can feel something, right? It feels like that... I don't know if it will change after a few more years... It's definitely less noticeable than at first, but there is a slightly awkward feeling. But from the start, the nose is an area that I think should not be pressed hard or handled roughly, so there is no particular discomfort in daily life.
Other than that, I didn't touch my septal cartilage and I didn't put in silicone, so I didn't have any particular side effects. The swelling also went down really quickly, so for almost a year now, every time I look in the mirror I think, wow, my nose turned out well, and I'm satisfied
The photos are before - 10 days after - today.
At 10 days after, there was still swelling, but it wasn't extremely severe. During that time, I haven't felt that the nasal tip dropped. Looking at the photos, it maybe looks a tiny bit wider, or maybe not....???
