Hi! I’m 8 months post-op from incisional double-eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty~ From online research and in-person consultations to my post-op progress, I really got a lot of help from this community! Since I got so much good information, I thought I absolutely had to leave a review too! I’ve recovered to some extent now, so I’m going to write one!! I was embarrassed, so I didn’t upload photos Please understand,,,
* Procedures received: incisional double-eyelid surgery, epicanthoplasty * Price: 2 million KRW (acquaintance discount applied)
* Immediately after surgery On the first day, as the anesthesia started wearing off, it hurt a bit. It felt throbbing, and my eyes were so swollen and tight that opening them was really hard On top of that, the anti-inflammatory painkillers the clinic gave me didn’t agree with me, so I threw up everything after taking them... The next day, I went to the clinic, got disinfection and a swelling laser treatment, and they told me not to take the anti-inflammatory painkillers, so I didn’t. The first day was actually when I was least swollen, and days 2 to 5 seemed to be the worst period for swelling The bruising was only bad until around week 1, and after that it went down quickly. I applied eye ointment with a sterile cotton swab, did warm/cold compresses, and slept sitting up only until day 2.. Maybe because I couldn’t wash my face properly, my eyes were so itchy, but I couldn’t scratch them, so it was awful.. Especially on the day I was going to get the stitches removed, on the bus, it was so itchy I thought I was going to lose my mind. Fortunately, once the stitches were removed, it felt much cooler and the itching completely disappeared. One of the things I regret most from that time is not applying the eye ointment properly... I did apply it twice every day, but I just roughly dabbed it on with a cotton swab Applying too much isn’t good either, but they said if it gets dry, scars form more easily, so keeping it moisturized is important! And they said it probably hurt more when removing the stitches because it was dry (according to the nurse)
* Current condition (line / scar tissue / personal care)
- Line I had an inline double eyelid, and a lot of the swelling in the line has gone down now! Except for the back part of the line being a little raised, the front part seems almost completely down... The surgery went well so I didn’t swell much, and since I’m originally the type who doesn’t swell easily, maybe it went down faster!
- Scar tissue, scars Because of scar tissue at the inner corner of my left eye, the line split into two, but around week 5, that disappeared too and connected into one line! They said the scar tissue was worse on the left, so I only got one scar-tissue injection on the left! I didn’t have any particular side effects from the scar-tissue injection, but it hurt... But to my eyes, the scar tissue on the right was actually worse? 큐 The scar tissue on the inner-corner line of my right eye was really severe... At the clinic, they said it wasn’t hard scar tissue but swollen, raised scar tissue(?), so I didn’t need a separate injection and could just wait. Thankfully, as time passed, it settled down a lot, and I’m relieved because it seems like it’ll all disappear with a little more time~ The white scar from the epicanthoplasty is also getting lighter over time. It used to look shiny, but now only a little whiteness remains! I definitely think you need to be careful with UV exposure! Anyway, I clearly realized that scar tissue needs a lot of time!!!
- Personal care: I applied lotion well so it wouldn’t get dry, was careful with UV exposure, and otherwise just left it alone~~ They said it was okay to apply regular face lotion instead of scar cream!!
* Aftercare For progress checks, they checked once right after surgery on the day of surgery, then the next day I got disinfection and a swelling laser treatment. But on day 2, the doctor didn’t check me. Then a week later, I got my stitches removed and saw the doctor, and I also saw the doctor when I went for my one-month follow-up. You’re required to go until month 2, and after that they don’t call you in unless there’s a problem! The aftercare is pretty good! Here, the doctor, nurses, and consultant are all really kind~~~ But the assistant staff who come into the operating room?? Several nurses come in, right? They weren’t exactly unkind, but they kind of didn’t pay attention to me and just kept chatting among themselves, so that was the only thing that made me go huh. Other than that, I was satisfied with everything~!!
Now that I’m writing it, there’s less to say than I thought 큐 The reason I wrote this is just to let people know roughly how things go after surgery~! Even after surgery, I had a lot of things I was curious about and searched, but it didn’t come up much, and finding information was hard These days I’ve become interested in facial asymmetry correction and orthodontic treatment, so I’m working hard researching again!! Last year and this year were a period with a lot of changes for me in many ways, with my first cosmetic surgery and my first internship! I can’t reveal my job, but after doing work related to promotion as well, I realized that there are really a lot of ads online wherever you go haha.... It was the same while looking into surgery too..! So what I want to say is that you can’t filter out every ad, but I think it’s important to find a clinic that is as conscientious and safe as possible~ I hope my post helps a lot!! I’ll share information about the clinic in a private comment!
