I was told my first breast surgery on February 16 had gone well, so I went home and was resting. On the morning of the 24th, after seeing the doctor, I went home and was resting when blood came out from my left breast. I called the hospital, and since they don’t see patients on Sundays, they told me to put something like gauze on it and press it with something like a towel to stop the bleeding. I did that, and when I went in first thing on Monday morning, the 26th, they said there seemed to be a slight issue near the incision area, that it wasn’t a big deal and only needed a simple treatment, but if there was another problem they would replace it, and I went into the operating room. When I woke up, they said the implant on the left had been completely replaced because blood kept coming out little by little, so they stopped the bleeding and redid it, and this time they had stitched it up completely. I went home with a drain.
At dawn on the 29th, this time a yellowish discharge-like fluid came out from the right side together with blood. I called the hospital again, and they told me to keep something like gauze on it and come in the morning, so I went. This time they just lightly stitched the leaking area.
After that, my condition was okay and I was doing fine. On the morning of March 2, I had a checkup, got swelling laser treatment and oxygen therapy, and went home. Then at 11 p.m., a sticky pinkish fluid suddenly started pouring out from my left breast. I called the hospital, and they said that amount was okay, and if there was no pain or heat sensation, it wasn’t a serious situation, so I should keep some gauze on it and come Monday morning. Since it was the breast that had been reoperated on, and the director had told me to come in if even a small problem occurred, I called several times. I kept treating it until around 1 a.m. on the 3rd, then decided to sleep for now and wake up. While I was about to brush my teeth, it started coming out a lot. My pants got soaked through, and it was coming out so much that gauze couldn’t handle it. I used more than a whole roll of kitchen towels, urgently contacted the hospital, was admitted, fasted for the required time, and completed removal surgery in the morning.
For over two weeks, I didn’t do any activity beyond briefly going out in front of my house, and I didn’t drink, smoke, or even have any secondhand smoke exposure. I sat still all day with my upper body upright, so my back and knees hurt. Because I kept going in and out of the hospital, my mother and boyfriend kept taking vacation days and half-days, making things hard for them too. I had to take medicine, and they said I should eat well to recover, so I ate meals on time, but since I couldn’t move, I gained weight as much as I gained weight, and scars remained as much as scars remain.
The semester starts the day after tomorrow, so I don’t know what to do. I’m so upset and exhausted. I had rhinoplasty at the same time and put silicone in my nose, and there’s no problem with my nose at all, but because of my breasts I’ve been going through this for more than two weeks. Is there anyone who, like me, had removal not long after surgery? How long did recovery take? In cases like this, would they give a refund? The hospital says they’ll do it again after 6 months, but honestly right now I don’t know, and I’m just having such a hard time. For a problem like this, do they ever issue something like a medical certificate?
