I’m writing a review after opening my nose twice for surgery over 2 years~~~~ I ended up recovering every winter, once a year haha For reference, I did it at the same hospital, and I’m planning to write mainly about the second surgery. There isn’t a ton of information; it’s just the kind of review where I attach a few photos showing the passage of time haha
**I’ll write about the hospital’s response and the current situation at the very bottom!**
First, before surgery, my nose was a bulbous nose with a hump.. After suddenly deciding to get a nose surgery, I had the surgery within less than a month haha
I went to consultations at about 3 plastic surgery clinics near Gangnam Station and just did it at the place that seemed okay. I did my eyes together too, and I had AS on my eyes too,,,, I’ll post that review later!
The surgery was done with an open approach, and they used septal cartilage and ear cartilage to raise the nasal tip and shaved the hump.
But as time passed, a depression appeared on the nasal bridge, and I could see the nasal tip gradually dropping So when it had been 1 year and 2 months since surgery, I proceeded with AS!! Likewise, it was done with an open approach, and I heard they filled the sunken part of the nasal bridge using ear cartilage and fascia!
I’ll describe it according to the passage of time after AS!
<AS day 7> On the day it had been one week after receiving AS, I removed the splint and wondered why the nose line looked so blunt… Right after removing the splint, the nose line is usually supposed to be uncomfortably high, but it wasn’t like that, so I was really worried. There was also something firm-feeling near the nasal tip lobule… When I asked the hospital via KakaoTalk, they said it was because of swelling and that I might need to watch it for up to 1 year at the longest, so I decided to wait!
<AS month 1> My nose being puffy was one thing, but the left nasal tip lobule area that had bothered me since removing the splint was still firmㅠㅡㅜ When I went for my 1-month follow-up, I told the director, and they said that if it didn’t improve depending on progress, we should try excising it!
<AS month 3> The fat-and-firm feeling was still there, and at the 3-month follow-up they prescribed Rizaben! But there was no effect,,
<AS month 8> When I went for a follow-up, they prescribed Rizaben again and said we should monitor the progress..! But even until now, it has not improved
If the surgery had gone well in the first place, I wouldn’t have needed AS, but because the first surgery didn’t go well, I had revision surgery. However, the problematic part didn’t improve, and a problem occurred in another area.
For reference, after revision surgery, I visited the hospital a total of 4 times for follow-ups, and the visit at month 8 was my last hospital visit. One month after that, because I got so stressed every time I took photos, I asked via KakaoTalk about a solution, and I received a reply telling me to file an insurance claim. During the follow-up, the director said that if it didn’t improve, we should remove it, so I thought they would do AS for me, but when they told me to file an insurance claim, I was very flustered..!
After that, I talked with the consultation manager via KakaoTalk, but since I wasn’t speaking directly with the director and the manager was relaying messages, I couldn’t have a clear conversation. So I wanted to visit the hospital and talk with the director or the consultation manager.
Of course, while talking via KakaoTalk, we discussed the direction and method I wanted, but I thought continuing the conversation remotely made it difficult for both sides to convey their opinions, so I wanted to visit the hospital and talk.
However, they did not make an appointment for me, and because I wanted to talk, I went to the hospital today, but the hospital said they had nothing to say and called the police..! Is it a problem for a surgical patient to visit the hospital..? This was my first visit to the hospital after raising the issue, and the hospital’s response is very bewildering..
