I had double eyelid surgery by incision 8 years ago and have been living with it, but lately my eyes have been drooping so much that I’m worried Even before double eyelid surgery, I originally had a deep double eyelid, but my upper eyelids were very thick and fleshy, so I had the fat in my upper eyelids removed and got double eyelid surgery with a partial incision. But as I’ve gotten older, the outer ends of my upper eyelids have gradually started to droop. (As the upper eyelids droop, the double eyelids are also gradually getting covered)
My eyes became so sleepy-looking and droopy that I had a consultation at a plastic surgery clinic. At the clinic, they recommended making a full incision along my existing double-eyelid line all the way to the outer end of the eye, cutting off the drooping part at the end + posterior canthoplasty.
What I’m curious about is… do a lot of people have surgery where the incision goes all the way to the outer end of the eye? The doctor says it’s commonly done that way too, but it had been so long since I’d been to a plastic surgery clinic that it was my first time hearing about making an incision all the way to the outer corner of the eye… I’m curious how swelling or scarring was for people who had surgery like this…
