Starting in the upper grades of elementary school, my jaw slowly began to protrude, and from middle school onward it was so stressful to show people my side profile. At first I thought orthodontic treatment could fix it, so I went for consultations, but everyone told me that my occlusion could be aligned, but my jaw might look even more protruded, and that if I wanted to fix my appearance too, it would have to be done with double-jaw surgery..^^
As someone who really loves dressing up, honestly, my front view wasn’t a face that stressed me out that much, so I endured it. But once I became an adult, even having acquaintances take photos of me became so stressful, and I hated seeing myself, so it had become routine for photos of me to go straight to the trash. That’s why I decided to have surgery haha Among so many hospitals, I chose Y Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and it feels like I only had surgery recently, but time has already passed and I’m at 2 months now haha
Right now I still have swelling, but the major swelling has gone down, so I’m doing well in daily life without discomfort haha People around me all compliment me, asking why my face is so small and saying I’m pretty, and they say my image has changed so much. I still have minor swelling left, but I think it will gradually go down, so I’m trying to wait patiently! I’m currently undergoing orthodontic treatment, so chewing feels somewhat awkward and uncomfortable, but I’m living with the thought that I have to endure it to become prettier~ For food, I can easily eat thinly sliced beef brisket!! But maybe because I haven’t been doing my mouth-opening exercises properly, I can barely fit even two fingers in.. I guess I need to try a bit harder I’m looking forward to seeing how much more change there will be once the residual swelling goes down. It’s still early after surgery, so I’m still a little short of living exactly like before surgery, but I think this has become a period where I keep noticing in daily life that I’m getting closer little by little! Let’s all hang in there!! haha
