Before <before surgery> After <1 month> After <2 months> When I first told people around me that I wanted surgery, they said I was still young (mid-20s), so did I really need under-eye fat repositioning? But even with makeup, the hollowness under my eyes showed in photos, and I really hated looking tired, so I decided on surgery and went around for consultations
During my consultation with Director ㅈㅇ, under-eye fat repositioning + anterior cheek fat grafting were recommended. I had originally gone in thinking only about under-eye fat repositioning, so I wondered if I really needed it, but they explained well with photos that because my face shape naturally has little volume in the anterior cheeks, if I only did the under-eye fat repositioning, the overall area under my eyes could look hollow, so I decided to do them together! That day, I scheduled the surgery for around the end of August and went home.
First, for the surgery review: even immediately after surgery, I didn't have burst capillaries or bloody tears, and I only had a slight bruise at the outer corner of my right eye. I wore a mask and went to work and did daily activities fine! They say swelling is worst on days 4-5, but I didn't have much swelling, and after about 2 weeks the minor swelling also went down well, so it changed into the 1-month photo.
And the anterior cheek fat grafting.. This doesn't show well in photos, but when I first had it done, they put in extra considering that some fat would be absorbed, so in the beginning it was so full that I wondered if I had done the right thing and kept worrying about it. But by weeks 3-4, the fat had settled down appropriately and it looked just right and pretty. But when the hospital first explained it, they said that for fat grafting, considering that fat gets absorbed, I should receive it twice in a first and second round. (They said the fat first harvested would be frozen, and a second procedure could be done for free within 3 months.) Sure enough, when I looked at it a little less than a month and a half later, a lot of the fat had gone down, and it even went down a little unevenly for me My left cheek subtly looked more hollow, and it bothered me so much that I got the second fat graft at the end of October.
Before the second round, the director checked again, and even without me saying anything, they noticed that the left side had gone down a little more and said they would match it well. People around me said they couldn't really tell, and it was subtle enough that only my younger sibling who sees me every day noticed, but the director recognized it right away, so I felt reassured. After the second round, again because of swelling, I thought, ah, did they put in too much.. But now that almost all the swelling is gone, it looks exactly like the amount I wanted!
I had heard that I probably didn't need to do it, and until around week 2 when the swelling was bad, I worried that my impression might look too different, but now I am very, very satisfied!! Especially, I think doing the anterior cheek fat grafting together was such a good decision. Since I originally didn't have much facial fat, my face looked a bit broad, but now that the under-eye hollowness is gone and my face has volume, I look much more my age, and I think my impression looks cuter too.
