Review of Visiting 8 Clinics for Severe-Eye Incisional Eye Revision Surgery

<Current eye condition: inner-corner line loosened, line asymmetry, scar at the end line of one eye> Short distance between eyes and eyebrows, skin on the thicker side, somewhat severe sunken eyes

Reviews in the order I visited the clinics

(6 months post-op) ㅇㅍㅌㄴ - They would excise the scar, cover it, and do revision surgery for the asymmetry and ptosis correction. For the surgical method, I would sit up midway and make eye contact with the doctor This seems okay. In-out line. For aftercare, laser for 20 minutes, and the doctor comes out 3 times to manage it. The price was 3.3 million won, but the event price was 3 million.

ㅇㄷㅍ - Overall, there were many people. Japanese people were also there with interpreters. The consultant consultation was first, and after seeing my eye condition, they told me to visit after it had been 1 year and asked the name of the hospital where I had surgery. Overall, the staff themselves were extremely, extremely kind. There was a consultation fee, but they didn’t charge it. They said to come back after 1 year and told me in advance that incisional revision surgery would cost around 3 million.

ㅇㅇㅌ- I just went once because it was nearby and I had been thinking a bit about a forehead lift. As expected, they recommended a forehead lift. Then, after seeing the scar curved upward, they told me to give up on the scar and said we should correct the loosened line and asymmetry with incision. But they said that if doctors at other hospitals tell me to excise skin, I should avoid that hospital. I had my first mental breakdown. The first 2 hospitals both said to excise, so I felt weird. Here, forehead lift + incisional ptosis correction + incisional eye revision came out to 6.43 million. But even if I did a forehead lift here, I think the scar would actually be more visible, so I don’t think I’ll go.

ㅁㅊㅍ- I told them about the previous 1, 2, and 3 hospitals. And here too, they asked the name of the hospital where I had surgery. Then they told me to go to either hospital 1 or 2. Then the consultant came and refused me, saying our director can’t do this and that I should look into another hospital.... My mentality broke here. I left without even paying the 5,000 won consultation fee. In the middle of all this, the consultant also asked the name of the hospital where I had it done. damn..

ㅇㅅㅎㅇㄴ- I had a consultation for 50 minutes. It felt like 30 minutes. The 10,000 won consultation fee didn’t feel wasted. Here, the doctor did not try to know the hospital name and seemed to avoid knowing as much as possible. It just felt like they were avoiding disputes..? They said my scar is on the long side, so they would try to hide the scar, but the result would be hit or miss. Also, the middle of my eye line has already come undone from the double-eyelid surgery, so the plan was to match the left eye 1 mm higher with a partial incision in an in-out line. They did not recommend ptosis correction, because the distance between my eyes and eyebrows is short, and if I do ptosis correction again, my eyes could look too intense, so they didn’t recommend it. Also, here they said doing ptosis correction just a tiny bit more is at the level of divine skill (?) something like that. Anyway, they were basically saying to just do a partial incision, give up on the scar, and only reset the line. It came out to 1.76 million.

ㅇㅇㅔㅇㅓ- The doctor’s physiognomy didn’t seem great. Their eye shape resembled the doctor who operated on my eyes. damn. On the hospital monitor, there kept being YouTube-like videos about many revision surgeries for protruding eyes. Meanwhile, I saw comments saying they made someone’s eyes into sausages, so I felt extremely unsettled. shit.. Looking at reviews on an app, it seemed like there were many reviews mainly for non-incisional suture methods. I wondered if this was the right place. I waited about 30 or 35 minutes, and the consultation time was 5 minutes. They said if they raise the line by about 1 mm and secure the line adhesion well, the scar would not show much. The price was 2.59 million.

ㅇㅇㅋ - At first it was a consultant consultation. They told me I have severe eyes. It was like, don’t you hear a lot about forehead lifts? They asked whether the hospital where I had my first surgery didn’t tell me that my eye line had loosened. Then they said it would be better for me to have surgery at the 1-year mark. They said my eyelid skin itself is on the thick side.. shit. But unlike other hospitals, here they said even raising it just 1 mm would probably make it look like sausage eyes, so we should just fix the original loosened line. Their opinion was similar to ㅇㅅㅎㅇㄴ. It was like, if you’re not doing a forehead lift, don’t raise the line. If I only want to salvage the eyes, they said to keep the original line as it is and wait at least 1 year. Give up on the scar.. But they said if the line is secured properly, it would look less visible than before. They said scars do fade after 2-3 years ~ shit... They said to do just a little ptosis correction, but is that possible? I don’t really know whether ㅇㅅㅎㅇㄴ lacks skill or what. Incisional eye revision plus slight ptosis correction came out to 3.5 million.

ㄱㄴㅅㅇ- I went because they said they specialize in severe eyes. But here they suddenly said something the previous hospitals had not said. They told me the end part is a depressed scar. At this point, I started wondering whether I really went to a terrible place for my first hospital. But they told me it’s not extremely severe. Most other hospitals called my eyes severe.. Here it just felt like, if it’s about my level, it’s on the easier side ~ The doctor looked at the scar on my eye and found it curious, saying how did the line curve upward? It was like they were saying they don’t do that. The consultation was short, about 5 minutes. Later, I saw a review from someone here saying you have to bring a list of questions and ask them. Here, the consultant looked at my eye condition and asked which hospital I had surgery at. I told them and received an estimate. It came out to 3.5 million.

Since the last place I visited brought up depressed scarring, I’m thinking of looking for a hospital specializing in revision surgery for depressed scars for my next clinic visits. The hospitals I’m currently thinking of visiting later are ㅁㅅㄹㅇ, ㅅㅍㄴ, ㅁㅌㅂ.
