I’ve had double-eyelid surgery three times.
The first time was with the buried-suture method, but it came undone quickly. The revision surgery also came undone after 1 or 2 years, but it didn’t completely come undone, so I lived with eyes that looked a little better than before surgery.
I didn’t want it to come undone anymore, so for the third time I had incisional double-eyelid surgery. It wasn’t a full incision; it was a partial incision.
Because of the clinic’s marketing that said they would give a discount of several hundred thousand won if I decided on surgery the same day as the consultation, I made the decision impulsively without looking into it enough. In the end, I’m satisfied with the result, but I regret it a lot because I think I was just lucky. Later, when my level is upgraded and I can leave a detailed clinic review, I’ll write more in detail about the consultation process and that part.
All the side effects lasted longer and were stronger than what the clinic explained.
There was bleeding from my eyes, and unlike what they said about being able to return to daily life quickly, I was half-blind for a week. The bruising is still full even after more than 3 weeks, and even 3 weeks after surgery, if I look at the computer for just an hour, my vision gets blurry and really breaks down. I still have quite a bit of swelling.
Still, the line seems to have been made nicely, so I’m reasonably satisfied. Compared with my previous buried-suture method, it’s much more obvious that I had double-eyelid surgery, but I did it impulsively with the mindset of “as long as men’s eyes look pretty, it’s okay if it shows,” so it’s fine.
It hasn’t even been a month yet, and I haven’t heard evaluations from people around me, so I don’t know the final result. But when I look at it myself, I think it didn’t turn out badly. With cosmetic surgery, revision surgery is possible, so I think if it isn’t ruined, you’re halfway there. Later, after more time passes and the swelling goes down, I’ll post another review.
