A review from about 7-8 months after LASEK
They said I had to take out my contact lenses at least 5 days before surgery, so I stopped wearing lenses 5 days before and wore glasses around. My younger sibling got LASEK here, so I just did it here too.
Before the consultation, I had various tests done. There were seriously so, so many people ;;; After doing all kinds of tests, I had a consultation with the counseling manager. It felt a bit off that I consulted with the manager without seeing the director..
I went in thinking about SMILE LASIK, but they said I couldn’t do it. They said I technically could(?), but the risk was high…. Because I had ultra-high myopia and astigmatism too, they said I needed to do LASEK with the Amaris Red equipment, so I resigned myself to it and proceeded with same-day surgery for 1.2 million won.
Before entering the operating room, in the surgery waiting room, if you wait ten minutes, people who finished surgery come out. I was extremely nervous, then when they called my name and I went in, they told me to lie down on a bed with a huge piece of equipment attached. I lay down, they put in eye drops, and it took less than 3 minutes per eye to get the laser on both sides. Then it was over.. lol
Until the first and second day, I thought I was going to die. The pain was so bad I wanted to pull my eyes out, and it made me feel completely disoriented, tears streaming down. You really can’t manage without a guardian. I couldn’t open my eyes…. From the third day, I could use my phone a little. It felt dry and stiff, like I had slept with contacts in… On the 4th day, I went to the hospital and had the lenses removed. From then on, it was livable hahaha
Now I’m very satisfied. However, my eyes sometimes get dry, so I put in artificial tears frequently. My current vision seems to be staying well above 1.0 haha
