A clinic-consultation review for eyes, almost 1 year later

A double-eyelid surgery review video popped up in my YouTube recommendations, so while I was thinking of it, I came to write a clinic-consultation review for this community. I already had the surgery and I’m satisfied! Last year I was so busy that I couldn’t go to many in-person consultations, so I really did a lot of online research.. Personally, I think apps are a little less reliable, so I didn’t refer to them that much! I got a lot of help from this community in narrowing down hospital candidates, making reservations, and making the final choice.. so I’m writing this review hoping it will help too. For reference, I don’t remember the waiting time or the consultation with the consultant in that much detail I think the hospital wait was at most about an hour or so. First, I went to two eye-specialty clinics, and I scheduled them on the same day with some time between them. For reference, what I had in mind before the consultation: in-out double eyelid surgery + canthoplasty to correct asymmetry 1. ㅇㅇㅋ(ㅏㅣㅠ) - Director ㅊㅁㅅ (consultation fee charged) I took photos, waited, and I think it took about 30 minutes to 1 hour.. Honestly, I forgot the waiting time, so please take it as approximate! While waiting, I first had the consultation with the consultant, and she roughly looked at my eye condition and told me what characteristics I had and what procedures she recommended. Honestly, the consultant’s opinion wasn’t that important to me.. Still, she felt calm and professional. When I went in for the doctor’s consultation, he made the line a few times, and the atmosphere was that he first said, very decisively, something like, this is what would be good. During that process, I heard something a bit drastic.. My eyelids are quite thin, so I didn’t expect to be recommended an incisional method?? But he said my eyelids are very thin and the area between my eyes and eyebrows is a bit hollow, so with eyes like mine, natural adhesion/buried sutures would come undone quickly. So in the end, he recommended incision + epicanthoplasty! Non-incisional is possible too, but he said it would come undone quickly within a few years.. He said I probably wouldn’t want revision surgery, so if possible he recommended incision. (For the epicanthoplasty, I have asymmetry at the inner corners of my eyes, and he automatically said exactly what I had wanted! I had no complaints about that.) I had abso~~~~lutely no thought of incision, so for now I got the price information and business card from the consultant and left.. I tried to accept that if the next clinic also recommended incision, that must be the fate of my eyes.. (The reasons I was reluctant about incision: I wanted a natural look + the financial burden) Oh, I also got the non-incisional price, and compared with other clinics, it was definitely not cheap! But the doctor is so famous for eyes.. and it’s a one-doctor clinic, so that point tempted me a lot.. 2. ㅇㅁㄹ - Director ㄱㅎㅈ (no consultation fee) The waiting time was similar to 1, but I think it took a bit longer! I had the consultation with the consultant, and although she was a little intimidating, she explained things carefully. Personally, the front desk atmosphere was just so-so.. I had already seen a review I liked in this community and chosen the doctor before going, so I didn’t have major concerns. But maybe the doctor was very busy with surgeries, because to match the doctor’s schedule, my waiting area changed about twice before the consultation, which wasn’t great.. But each time I moved, the staff apologized, so I wasn’t offended or anything. The doctor’s consultation was really detailed, and he made the line several times too. Since it was bothering me, I brought up the incision recommendation from clinic 1, and he very confidently emphasized that natural adhesion would be fine. I said I wanted to correct the asymmetry of the inner corners of my eyes somewhat, but if I did epicanthoplasty my eyes might look too close together, and he said, then how about doing only upper epicanthoplasty! As written in other reviews, he didn’t push excessive surgery and it felt like he recommended an appropriate amount?? For upper epicanthoplasty too, he said one side seemed necessary, but I could choose about the other side. One year of free AS was available (for simple loosening), and there was a swelling laser service.. I received cost estimates for doing and not doing canthoplasty, and I was satisfied with the price. I remember there was probably an event going on at the time! If there was one relatively negative point, it was that it felt a little like a factory-style clinic? But although I haven’t been to other clinics, I thought, if it’s a famous clinic, they must all have this kind of atmosphere~ If the consultation had been lacking, I would have been a bit annoyed, but that wasn’t the case. I’ll know better if I watch it longer, but now that all the swelling has gone down, I’m satisfied with the surgical result! I think it’s best to look up as many reviews as possible and get surgery from a doctor who can perform the line you want.. Of course, the most important thing is to get an in-person consultation and confirm whether it’s possible for your eyes.. I think it’s good to clearly organize what you want to improve and what you’re aiming for before you go. I think bringing photos of celebrities’ eyes is all in that same context too lol
